In-It-To-Win-It Money Bomb - Planning & Promotion - Goal: $2M+ in donations on April 15

Just received the e-mail from the Campaign I thought they would send.

Entitled, "Heard the News" Ron tonight has officially extended the Money Bomb until Midnight this Tuesday, April 17th which is Taxpayer Freedom Day,

Spread the word, there is still over 49 hours left in the In-It-To-Win-It Money Bomb!!!!

I'm sure the ticker will stay up until the end of next weekend.

Orenbus lessons learned (lesson #1) - Don't start drinking the night before a money bomb. :o

Added ticker to http://www.intowin2012.com/

Working on the polling for the contest so we can vote on a winner for video and avatar, hopefully will have that up soon and maybe we can have the voting period between now and the next day or two while the money bomb goes on.

Yea I agree with this, I also think he or someone in the campaign should make available a video, which would have more impact asking people to donate while giving a heads up on what happened in Colorado/Minnesota over this past week as a sign of moving in a positive direction with the delegate strat.

Was going to ask you guys if we should extend the money bomb to 4-17 or 4-20? Didn't get a chance to send out an email this morning, thinking about doing so and updating the site to say the money bomb has been extended so people that come into work tomorrow or check their email in the mornings/lunch-time, as people do will see that their donations count towards reaching 2.5M this week for Texas/CA campaign media buys.

I'm not going to get into it now, but I've been making some notes on some lessons learned and one that we should have considered when picking a date is that MBs should be held at a date and time when Ron Paul related sites see the most traffic (typically weekdays). While people are engaged on the net they are more likely to see something is going on and they should donate.
I agree, another day of the week would have been better. It didn't even occur to me until late last night that it might impact things but starting a moneybomb on a Sunday likely wasn't optimal (no idea why this didn't dawn on me until now :o ).
Getting the word out that it's extended is a good thing to do as activity picks up Mon/Tue.
And I sincerely hope the campaign comes out with a video statement including references to the latest delegate results.

I agree, but at least they emphasized the Delegate Wins in their "Heard The News" E-Mail Tonight which also Extended the Money Bomb until Tuesday, Midnight!!!

As I said earlier I sure hope the YFRP Speakers this week at the three rallies will ask the thousands in attendance to please Donate $20 or more to the Campaign!!! It is soooooo important to get NEW DONORS......

The biggest moneybomb we've had was on a Sunday. That has nothing to do with it.

I'm surprised by this money bomb. When I got up this morning and saw that it hadn't even passed $100,000 yet, I said to myself "Well, I guess the campaign is over if everyone is giving up." I felt bad throughout the day, but then I came home and saw that we're close to a million already. I guess I spoke too soon.

When does it end? I thought the goal was 2.5 in 24hrs..

I maintain that people want to see the campaign show some life. Yes, working the delegate process is very important, but not going after Mitt Romney with an attack ad is hurting them in the eyes of a lot of supporters.

I think there may be some people just not happy with out their money would be spent if they donated. Some times you have to cut your losses in certain battles to save ammunition of troops for later battles. And seeing that he is going to Rhode Island is one of those wastes of ammunition. That is so heavily Romney country that it just isn't worth spending one dime there. Sure, it is proportional, but it just won't matter. And there are so few delegates at stake that there is no point.

With Santorum out, he actually COULD make somewhat of a splash in the states where Santorum was expected to do well. And NY and Rhode Island were NOT states that Santorum was expected to do well. Now..with NY it may still be OK since getting Romney under 50% is still a win. (Though focusing on just two college towns and ignoring the rest of the state is wrong) But with Rhode Island, it is just spending money for nothing.

People want to donate to a campaign. They don't want to throw their money away. And with a good 3+ weeks before a state that is even remotely winnable, this money won't go very far.

It was a HUGE mistake for the campaign to say they "needed" $2.5 million. It just makes this money bomb look like it failed. Had he said "Let's get to a million, then by Tuesday it might have been able to claim success. But now, if there is ANY media coverage at all of this, it will be "Ron Paul asks for $2.5 million...gets just 30% of that." But mostly, it will just be ignored

^^^this is a useless post.

the campaign is focused on motivating its base to be active in the delegate effort... if RI and NY produced the most interest for visits then that is where they should go... it costs very little to speak at a college. you clearly have little understanding of how they decide where to go and how the money is spent. Where would you like to spend that money TV in SD? Radio in NV? I guess we'll fire the consultants and staff and ignore the delegate race. Ass.

Maine was considered Romney country too. Ron does VERY well in New England. I wonder how well he would have done in New Hampshire had Huntsman dropped out before, rather than after, NH.

I'm not a twitter guru, but why not tweet the money bomb incorporating the hash tags that are trending. #inCollege is trending at the top right now, must be a way to incorporate that somehow.

I am new to these forums and to the moneybomb. Can someone elaborate a bit on this moneybomb vs prior? I was under the impression RP wanted 2.5MM on Sunday or he was going to consider dropping out. I now see it's been extended through Tuesday but the slant of the chat just doesn't show a good chance of reaching 2.5. That being said, it could definitely reach like 1.8 which is certainly good but do we take it as a hard statement that it is 2.5 or bust or is that standard fundraising talk?

Really never ever ever ever should have put a 2.5mil figure on it with the warning we'd have to drop out without (it's totally bullshit and we all know it)... whoever did that should be fired...

From my perspective, this moneybomb has been an absolute success... I would love to see 2.5mil and i'd be happy with 2mil but I think we're going to rake in just over 1.5...

To me that's an absolute success, especially when you consider that the last moneybomb limped to a million in a week and this one might get there by the end of day 2.
