In-Home Shooting Range?

Cops (as a rule) don't shoot worth a shit.. they just blast away at a general area.

Are Airsoft barrels rifled? I did not think they were.

They are also useless for varying bullet weights and powder charges..
They would be fun just for "trigger time" and recreation,, but not for accurate shooting.

Good points, it is a tool, but an imperfect one.

I've read about a rifled airsoft barrel, but the general rule is they are not.

I recently got one of these for dry fire practice.

It serves a similar purpose, and it allows me to use the very same gun I fire live rounds out of. Again, it doesn't take the place of them because of the lack of recoil. But it does let you practice the motion and see results with a dot on the wall without spending money on ammo.

So a laser snap cap? Interesting. Is the extra money worth the visual produced by the laser? I'd imagine it'd be a little cumbersome with single action, hammer less semi auto pistol.

I think a lot of research into sound proofing (like a music studio) and no one would know you have made a range in your basement. If they can't hear it and don't know it's there you shouldn't have any issue.

Maybe you would also want to blast some music while shooting to drown out any noise escaping and the shots would be indecipherable from the bass drum. While you are at it you can tell people you took up drumming as a hobby.

The dot shows up for a fraction of a second. And I can see a big difference between when it moves all over the place and when it moves just a little. I think it does help train motions that I wouldn't notice without it. I thought about that target, and I don't really see the added benefit of it.

For the cost I figure it's divided out over probably tens of thousands of times firing it, so it comes out to very little per use. At least if you really use the thing.
