I haven't seen this story covered here before. I vaguely remember the 2016 shooting of multiple police officers in Dallas, but I didn't pay the story much attention. More recently I learned that the shooter, an army veteran, was killed by a robot police dog who carried explosives to his position.

Of course Russians and Ukrainians are using killer drones in the air, land and sea all over the place now. In 2016 the robot dog was almost certainly operating 100% under human control. But the tech is available now for such a killing to be autonomous. If you kill a robot police dog is that murder or destruction of property?
