I'm Thinking of Starting a News Organization...

A quick website I just made, (a rough draft of sorts)

www.freedomnews.zoomshare.com

I like it. We just need our own domain (so that way we don't seem cheap) and a little more like a news site than a blog. Good start.

This movement never ceases to amaze. We soon may make our livings off of it, and I'd bet we'd all love that.

Making $$$ of liberty, who could ask for more?

I've created a Election 08 page on my new website. I've made a score card for the oppositions the candidates have to the bill of rights. Please help!

Maybe so, but there'll be alot of effort for no pay to get it off the ground, and spending will have to be low if we are to grow quickly.

A new domain to start sounds good, we need a damned good webmaster, someone within the movement who will help us get started, later, we can maybe pay something.

Maybe one of the other sites can give us some helpfull input, like Prison Planet or one of the admins here.

The Mission Statement needs some work, I'll see what I can do to improve it.

Yes, I guess it will suffice for now. If you want, once you get the main site working, I'll send you editorials to publish.

(Since most of the CNN/Fox guys have their own websites that aren't part of cnn.com/foxnews.com, I guess I can too)

That sounds good to me. As soon as we can get investors and other contributers lined up we can vote on a board to head up the organization.

For the first bit we should only pay contributers per article/editorial, later we can pay the top end guys.

Add that almost all of them (except RP) are opposed to the 10th and 9th amendments, and many are opposed to the fourth. McCain is not entirely in favor of the 2nd either.

(modified: Rev #2) MISSION STATMENT (feel free to modify, this is a rough draft)

To establish an independent environment for the free flow of unblemished truth and information to the people,

To reestablish Domestic Unity, Tranquility, Prosperity, Individual Freedom and assure all individual and collective rights of the people are preserved forever;

To return rightful sovereignty to the Individual States; and to the United States, by Moderating the separate Powers as provided by the Original Constitution and the first ten Amendments to the United States Constitution,

To henceforth, and evermore, Assure the intended power structure provided by the Founders.

Thumbs up!

Okay, we now need a domain, an editor, a webmaster, and someone who is great with graphics.

We can all contribute articles, so there's no immediate need to spend anything except for the Articles of Incorporation, and that's minimal.

We need to sell stock while we fill these immediate needs.

I will pledge to buy 1,000 shares of initial stock at $5.00 per share.

I guess we need a treasurer, that will be voted on when we have 10,000 shares under pledge.

I can do editing, everyone can email the articles, I'll look them over, make minor changes (unless an article really bad), send 'em back asking if it's OK.

I can be in for 40-50 shares. Sign me up for 40 for now.

I like the We The People News (WTPN) suggestion and that sounds more inclusivie of all...libertarians, constitutionalists, repubs, dems...whoever. Great idea!

All we need now is a format where we only allow Presidential debates as per the Constitution this may eliminates some socialist parties (not Constitutional) and may limit us to Republicans and Libertarians in separate debates!

We need to advocate debates, true debates, having ANY candidate who wants to run and can establish credibility under very liberal rules.

There should be no forewarning candidates as to questions, and each party having a candidate in the race should elect or appoint a representative to ask questions of any candidate they wish.

There should also be a 3 minute period at the opening for each candidate to state his/her platform, in rotation by lots.

Everybody gets equal time, and each questioner gets to ask one question of each candidate.

Dont forget that the people who control the world control the stock market.. They can fuck up your stock price at the flick of a finger.. They have done it numerous times in history.

We should keep private trading, no markets for us.

The criteria for entrance should be qualification for matching funds, and when ballot qualification starts, enough states for it to be theoretically possible to win.

Yes, Nate's right, this should be a privately held corporation, an "S-corp."

And since it's a non-profit, there'll be no taxes.

I can do editing as well, to triple-check for source accuracy and spelling/grammar. I absolutely hate articles with spelling errors ;). I could probably write articles now, but I'd rather go get a degree in some form of journalism first.

I'm down for share buying as when pricing/quantity is set.

+1 on the spelling, and I'd only do op-eds until I got some sort of degree.
