I'm phonebanking right now...

74 calls made. I think the best time to call is on the weekends after 5PM (EST), when people are generally in more of a leisure mode.

I can only make calls on my lunch break during the week, I don't get out of the office until some time around.......................................................................now....or a little later

I found it was far more effective doing it last Saturday.

I made 50 calls yesterday. Been doing about 25 a day average but had to skip a couple of days so doing extra calls on other days to make it up. Fifty a day is about my limit. Wish I could do more.

Man, some of these people I get on the line are real dummies! Don't know what a primary is, don't know the difference between a senator and a congressional representative, and some only care about one issue: abortion.

I just did 25 calls. Most of them hung up on me after my opening sentence. I'm worried I'm screwing this up. What is the best way to open the conversation? Do I ask for the person first or do I start with the "Hi my name is ____" intro?

Do you care about this country?

yes...

Let me tell you what you need to do to save it....Vote schiff 4 senate

Peter asked for the name at the top of the screen.. if that particular person isn't there, talk to the person anyway.. but I would think it helps if somebody asks for them, then they know it isn't just a robo-call that happens to be from a real person.

Yes, I learned these techniques from Boiler Room a must watch movie.
A-Always
B-Be
C-Closing

Engage them, get a yes response out of them.

I didn't get any hang ups. Try skipping the "My name is X" and just go straight to "I'm a VOLUNTEER..." I emphasize the volunteer part when I make my calls, and that seems to get their attention.

I always ask for the person first, and then say "Hi my name is _____ and I'm a volunteer with the Peter Schiff for US Senate campaign. Are you following the Senate race at all?" Most people answered and said they weren't really following the race. Then I tell them that I'm calling republicans to urge them to find out more about Peter Schiff. I always mention that he is endorsed by all the tea party groups, and that he is an economist and businessman. Also, I mention that he is famous for predicting the economic crisis, and that other economists were laughing at him back in 2005 when he was warning us. This got some people interested.
