If you were Rand Paul's career manager

OK. That's a good approach, but if Rand is paying you I think he'd want some more. :)

that's a huge if.

to be frank, if he could snag the repug. nod in district 14, he
could sneak in and no one would notice....

other than that, i'll have to think.

he'd have to try and make waves first, distancing himself from
his father's legacy. allow the voter to come to that conclusion...

"this guy must be his son"

anyway, that would snag him a seat in the house... he'd have
to be poised to pounce on a state senate seat (very very) shortly thereafter....

thereby capitalizing on his early gains/silent momentum

maybe even, "the" senate

then, upward and outward

5 to 10 yrs. coalition building...

run for pres.

You say that in the long run he should go for US Senate by engaging in Texas politics. Since it's a huge state, maybe it's easier to first aim for US Rep. and then for US Senate?

depends on when his pops retires from the scene.

he lives in kentucky or somethin' right now, no?

Oh, Kentucky. I had no idea. That makes things different. Do you think they'd vote for a libertarian/conservative minded senator?

I'm thinking Kentucky is stuck on Huck. They are the Bible belt types that think if a candidate wants to impose the Bible on everyone by law, then they must be 'of the Lord.'

there are alot of paul supporters around here too

I think my advice to Rand Paul is simple. Always be honest and direct. Don't lie. Treat the voters as the intelligent
people that they are. More than 43 years ago Richard Milhous Nixon thought he could lie to the American about the
Watergate scandal. The release of his presidential tapes brought home how deceptive he could be and he resigns the
presidency. The next year and a half will be difficult, we all are going to go on a roller-coaster ride of intense emotions
but if we create the environment for a successful presidential bid by Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, it will be worth it.

I'd tell him that he can do more good for the world, make more money, and sleep much better at night, as a doctor.

Seriously? Bumping a 7 year old thread unironically? Interesting trip down memory lane I guess...

Maybe. But there would have to be some kind of anti-spending movement that becomes really popular there.

I would tell Rand not to attack Jeb Bush and Rubio. I would then collect $500,000 a year for running childish campaign ads.

Sarcasm

This thread is kind of cool in the sense that the right guy, given a few years, can really change the course of the country.

This person needs some mad reps+
