If we could buy 1000 acres or more, who would join us?

Perhaps 3-10 acres plots according to needs and what could be afforded. Contracts could be made with those that can afford to buy more (chip in more) and make contract for those that want a piece, etc... A new Town (Liberty Forest) ?

Not enough space for nude frolicking ;)

I'd be open to the idea. Depends on the variables. I've lived in "communes" before. Every single thing has to be hashed out. Everything. There is no two ways about it. The more people added the more the potential for conflict generation.

Here we go, hippies, let's all get one of these. :D

I guess we need to figure out what our needs are law wise too:

guns
permitting structures
water and natural resource rights
homeschooling
farming/ranching
independent power via turbine; solar; natural gas; biogasification
taxes (if no state tax, how high is property tax?)
federal land -

what else?

deed restrictions

We stayed in one of those in Arkansas...it was pretty nice but not sound proof at all. The one we stayed in looked just like that but had a deck and a hot tub.

yurts were the home of choice for mongol hoards.
for cheap living you can't beat it.
want to insulate for sound and temp control?
spray foam. (but it won't be cheap like rest of construction)
i'd just rather live in a yurt than any other cheap living arrangements.

I'm not moving but I would think about it if I lived in a city. The word compound makes me think branch davidian or something and I wouldn't want to live in a big building with other families. It's smart for liberty minded people to collaborate on something like this. Water and food would be top priorities.

I would want my own piece of land and my own house. I wouldn't mind sharing some communal buildings...dining hall, etc.

we will find a guy named Ryan, and he'd be in charge of the dining hall.
we will call it Ryans.
