If Ron Paul is not the GOP candidate will the Libertarian party get a boost?

I wonder what effect this election will have on the Libertarian party. Usually they get 0.5% in most elections however with all the recent coverage of Ron Paul and his Libertarian ideas (his views are almost identical to a token Libertarian candidate) I wonder how this will affect the Libertarian party. If Ron Paul is not the GOP candidate will they get a boost in support? Would you consider joining the Libertarian party if Ron Paul loses? All this support and enthusiasm for Ron Paul will hopefully go somewhere. I remember after Howard Dean lost he said he would try and use his support for Democratic causes but he didn't. Hopefully the Ron Paul support will do something good and join the Libertarian party or become Libertarian Republicans in the future.

What's their position on the war? I'm guessing and ASSuming that they are in line with RPs views on civil liberties and government power, but, who knows...

I think that many of the traditional conservative Republicans coming out in favor of Congressman Paul would be more at home in the Constitution Party than the Libertarian Party.

Much of Congressman Paul's appeal to these supporters comes from his personal character and religious values.

And it is this personal character that makes some of the more radical implications of his positions, palatable to traditional Conservative supporters. Much more so than the stereotypical image of the Libertarian party as Godless, pot smoking, sodomites.
