If Ron Paul is not on the ballot, I'm seriously considering Gary.

I refuse to not vote. I'd vote for the freaking Green Party just to let them know I didn't stay home.

My ex-wife would always vote the opposite of me. So, during the elections I'd trick her into doing things so she would show up just when the polling places had already closed. She started catching on to this proclaiming such things as, "Look, you bastard, I really count so my vote is special!" or "Why should I vote the same as you when I have a mind of my own!"
*The last straw happened during the last election, with this being the major incident leading to the demise of our marriage. In order to make my vote count, I took her out early that afternoon to celebrate. Oh, she went on and on about how her vote was special and how, because she had a mind of her own, it was going to be just the opposite of mine. After getting her good and drunk, I snuck out of the restaurant leaving her behind to go vote. Meanwhile, she missed yet another chance at voting as she was taken instead to the police station, booked for public intoxication, before being thrown into the tank to sober up.

*None of the above story is true. Besides, as a typical male, I take absolutely no responsibility.

Gary has my vote in november sure he's not as good as Ron but certainly he still much better than Romney or Obama.

Gary is good on pot. Make Romney lose votes for being a drug warrior.

Voting for Gary here. :D

As New Mexico governor he vetoed 755 pieces of legislation. Now that is someone we need in the WH to put a stop to the madness.

Gary is polling 7% in CO and up to 15% in several states including I believe New Mexico??? About 80% of Americans haven't heard or don't know enough to make a decision on the man. If the media gives him some traction with positive news stories (and they should), watch out...

I honestly don't believe Gary can win unless some unforeseen event happens but he could put a damper on Romney in certain states like Nader did for Gore in FL.

I intend to write in Ron Paul, but in Nebraska they don't count in write in votes unless you petition 3k names. Yeah WTF. When I was at Boys State the speaker of the unicameral was there I called him out on that and said ' How is this democracy when OUR VOTE is not counted? ' His rebuttal ' Who wants to count Mickey Mouse all day ' Me: That's still their vote, count it.

So I'm kinda torn... I may vote Gary who knows

I agree. If Johnson actually had a real chance to win the presidency, then I'd have some real concerns about him, but he's a protest vote, to say that until those others take a stance against things like NDAA and other attacks on liberty, my vote will go to someone who, even if far from perfect, at least represents the ideals we're trying to bring back to the mainstream.

It's a protest vote, so I don't understand why he has to be completely ideologically pure like Ron, when we know he's not going to be the next president. The "lesser of two evils" might be a bad vote if you're choosing the next president, but that's not what a vote for Johnson is for... It's to support our ideals and show our strength of numbers, so that future candidates might have a bit more viability both in the major and 3rd parties.

If you're viewing this as ideological purity, then feel free to write in Dr. Paul and probably not have your vote counted at all. For me though, if I'm going to vote, then I'm going to send a message: AOBE "Anyone but establishment".

Agreed. This makes perfect sense. Well said.

There's other ways to influence society....voting is probably the least important and effective.

We vote chiefly with our wallets.

And LOOK at Working Poor throwing money, beggar hand over iron fist, at the two "parties" that serve them so ill.

You guys are extremely picky, irrational, and stuck in your libertarian bubbles if you think Gary Johnson isn't a solid alternative to Ron Paul.

funny, i think a lot of the people that don't like johnson are more of the conservative strain; but maybe thats just me.

The Republican party, MSM, Foxnews and Neocon talk radio showed their true colors when they completely ignored the record of Gary Johnson's term as Governor compared to that big government, Massachussets liberal and father of Obamacare, Mitt Romney.

All one has to do is compare their records which would make for a good talking point to get out there and in the debates. We really need to get Gary into the debates.

We need to get Gary into the debates this Fall.

No question, we should focus our efforts on that.

Gary Johnson in the debates would be good for absolutely EVERYONE on this planet, except Bad Guys.

He will oblige Barack Soaring Rhetoric Obama and Mitt Ken Doll Romney to actually SAY something.

At LEAST, it oughtta disabuse some Foreigners of the idea of getting into "New" World Order with America.

At best, it may coax some Americans AWAY from the rote BULLSHIT that perpetuates every single one of our problems.

A'course there are also sponsors like CAR MAKERS and INVESTMENT MAKERS and DRUG MAKERS and such. I distinctly recall hearing "BROUGHT TO YOU BY CADILLAC"...'cuz I remember thinking GOTTA TIP YER HAT AT REPUBLICANS FOR NOT GIVING A SHIT WHAT ANYONE THINKS.

Earnest letters to Officials and Gatekeepers are meaningless...we KNOW this. Our nemeses our BAD, not stoopid.

ADVERTISERS MUST BE HAPPY...or they will not pony up the gargantuan prime-time advertising dollars.

If Advertisers are UNHAPPY (decreased earnings make them unhappiest), and if Advertisers trace their aggravation to demand for Gary Johnson (ANOTHER VOICE) to be included in the debates, and if ADVERTISERS demand remedy from Networks...well, there are no guarantees, peons seldom "get their way", but there will ABSOLUTELY be some of those "private" back-room talks where THINGS HAPPEN.

Lotta companies have been bolstering numbers since 2008 on spit and a promise. APPLE can take a hit certainly, but most companies are reeeeally NOT "up" for even a minor dips. Dips APLENTY on the horizon, without CONSUMER BACKLASH.

Yeah, another thing to consider is that the media probably views Gary Johnson as a useful tool to help Obama. In the Primary, they ignored Gary because it was bad enough they had one guy up on the stage prattling on about liberty and they wouldn't stand for another. But now all the sudden it is in the media's interests to prop Gary up. So he might do better than some of us expect.

My take on voting is if you are going to do it, you should probably vote for Johnson. If you are thinking about writing in Paul on "principle", why not do the truly principled thing and not vote at all?

Everyone read and learn:

You guys are extremely picky, irrational, and stuck in your libertarian bubbles if you think Gary Johnson isn't a solid alternative to Ron Paul.

And that my friends is how you win votes.

I'm still considering voting for Gary. Otherwise the idiots win.

I'm fairly certain they win either way.

Pretty much, most of the time.

Their money is "on" Democrat or Republican. Their money is NOT on Third Party.

It would ABSOLUTELY throw some wrenches in some spokes if NEITHER of "their boys" win.

That's a GOOD thing. We're dealing with Uber Bad Guys...NOT "our distinguished colleagues on the other side of the aisle."

This is spot on. He isn't even a protest vote. Just like I was excited to vote for RP in the primaries, I'm happily voting for Johnson.
