The other guys are just sharing the bulk of the neo-con and "i want to vote for the winner" vote.

Huckabee has sheep looking to be led and RP has the best policies that align with the church views.

If McCain dropped we would get the independants back but I think he will end up staying to the end.

Huckabee likely wont drop out, he is looking at a solid VP shot with McCain or Romney.

i'm all about optimism, but honestly when i heard on the news last night that "40% of voters polled in Michigan said the most important issue was the economy" and virtually no one voted for RP, there are serious problems. if we don't get the message out no one will vote for RP.

We were very rude to the Huckabee folks. I would be surprised if they shift to Ron Paul if Huckabee drops out.

Michigan is the most economically concerned, but the rest of the country is still waking up to the idea that our dollar sucks right now and RP is the only one talking about it.

I hate to say it but RP is getting a bad name from all the negative supporters blasting everyone from the internet to Huck. We need to have a more positive theme instead of the negative, everyone sees us as the "whiners" and Republicans do not generally go for that, they go for what can be done about something (action) more than what's wrong with everything

Sadly this is correct. I'm a huge Ron Paul supporter but there are far too many people backing him that are rude and down right crazy.

Playing Devil's Advocate, trying to talk to sheeple is very trying at times.

Yeah, we can be quite rude to others, but if we're to spread the message we must remember to stay frosty in even the most stressful situations.

I tried my best to convert a loyal Huckabee supporter, or atleast have him look at Hucks policies. He's voting for him because he has "Good character, and I think he would make a good president. His character reflects his policies." He already sent in his absentee ballot. He and I are both Christians, yet the main reason he is voting for him is because he's an Ordained Minister.

He is well aware of all the issues Ron Paul talks about, but the number one issue to him is Iraq. He thinks that coming home with 'honor' is the answer. He also seems to think that Ron Paul's stance reflects poorly to his character, in other words a coward.

I am Christian, but I can't believe that amount of people blinded by this...

The very belief that people are "sheeple" is part of the problem. That's part of the attitude that is the issue here. The thought process that somehow anyone that supports Paul is enlightened and anyone else is mind numbed masses that are brainwashed and dumb.

Paul has a great message, its how you put across that message that's going to matter. Part of it is understanding that the vast majority of the country are not die hard, non stop, political junkies. They don't know the ins and outs of how everything works, nor do they want to. They're not stupid, its just not their thing. Its like trying to talking detailed football play plans to someone that just barely watches it during playoff's, or going into details about the specs of your massive fast new alienware computer to someone that mostly just uses it for Word and email. Its not that they are stupid, its just not what they use it for.

Figure out how to get across Paul's message in a positive way, that is simple to understand and is not presented in a manner that you're basically telling people "Believe this, or you're stupid, unconstitutional, and brainwashed". Show that you understand that while you may not agree with the other candidates, that its not some kind of cardinal sin that they do, but then show them why you think Ron Paul is BETTER, not why their guy is "worse" or why Ron Paul is the "only" one and everyone else is a fraud.

I think that's the biggest issue with the grass roots movement of Paul now. It has became a very elitist thing, exclusive. I think in part that's what drives it to being quite easily the most prolific grass roots movement of the past 2 decades at least...but its also why it has trouble expanding out farther then it is at the moment. Few people in the general population are swayed by being told their stupid and wrong, or being treated like their "sheeple".

Yeah the guy(Mike Huckabee) ought to be arrested for Grand Theft of Presidential Candidate policies from RON PAUL. But, people forget that in most races, any political candidate, Except for RON PAUL, will STEAL whatever works for their campaign.

What a bunch of PANDERING PLAGIARISTIC HACKS... but HUCKLEBERRY already stated he's in this throughout the RNC convention in MN and said,

He'll SELL HIS SOLE & YOURS, for the PRESIDENCY or VICE PRESIDENCY! lol

You make some valid points but I guess you haven't seen that video of the group of women praying for Huckabee to win in Iowa or the many church pastors which have endorsed him. You are right that some people are elitist about it but at the same time I think its more a distaste for anyone who is not realizing the great thing in front them.

Seriously, you have to be a tremendously ignorant bible thumper to want to vote for someone who has a liberal fiscal record and who has just said that we need to amend the constitution so its in Gods standards. Give me a freaking break.

I don't see Huck supporters going to Ron Paul.. their is a huge gulf there... we want to keep him in the race as long as we can. Now if Fred dropped out Ron Paul's numbers nation wide would go up, enough probably that the news media would have to take him serious.

Huckabee is most likely to win the nomination, in my opinion. He is the sterotypical republican. Conservative, pro-gun, pro-war, against gay rights, pro-life, and he is a babtist preacher for goodness sakes. He clearly, is ok with accepting large gifts in exchange for political favors. Plus he is well spoken and fairly presentable on tv. He is the son the Bush's always wanted.

you are absolutely correct.

wstrucke stated the above was "absolutely correct."

I am sorry, the majority of Americans -

believe the war between the states was a civil war and that it was fought to free the slaves.

believes the federal reserve is "part of the government"

believes there is nothing morally wrong with government redistribution of wealth

believes that anything the US chooses to do abroad is inherently good by the simple fact that it is the US doing it.

believes whatever their talking head of choice tells them to believe.

Now I agree, you can't win people over by telling them they are behaving as sheep, but I think referring to them as sheep among those who have taken the red pill - frankly I can't think of a more apt description, and frankly anyone that gets to the point where they are reading this forums or examining Ron Paul, they are a sheep no more and they know it, but I also think anyone who had been in the "sheeple mindset" after waking up has to look back at their previous self and admit "Wow, I WAS a sheeple!"

The argument that we are not doing well because we sometimes refer to the general population as sheeple or asleep, I think this is just a raw assertion and there is zero evidence to back the statement up.

I was at a bank and talking with an employee earlier today. She asked me who I was voting for and said "Ron Paul" and she had no idea who he was. The general public still does not know who Ron Paul is. What a shame.
