If Cruz has the decency to select Rand as running mate...

If I was Rand, I would stay as a respected and influential senator than a powerless VP. Besides Cheny, VPs have had very little influence.

bernie talks a good game...but at the end of the day, he'll war like the others.

Bernie is an economic illiterate. The guy is bat shit crazy too. His entire political philosophy is based on violence - steal and enslave the masses. Bernie is also against human rights which essentially is individual rights. Bernie says you HAVE NONE. Your sorry ass belongs to the state. Now do as he says.

Yes, it is so frustrating to see so many here have no idea that Bernie Sanders is the antithesis of Ron Paul and libertarian philosophy. Sanders, across all issues, seeks to empower the state, whereas Paul seeks to empower individuals. Bernie Sanders has the most dangerous ideology of any of the candidates.

I'd give him some more credit than this. He's got a pretty strong legal background and is intelligent. Obama made great choices for nominees (as young and extreme left as possible) from a Liberal's perspective. I think Cruz would make equally strong choices for the conservative side.

It is a good point that this election year matters for no other reason than the SCOTUS. You don't want to see who Hillary or Bernie Sanders  nominate do you?

This is bullshit in the extreme. Ted Cruz would nominate supposed "conservatives" just like Bush did. Sell that snake oil somewhere else.

Bernie is pro war on his own people. Bernie promotes a violent philosophy of theft and enslavement. Basically, Bernie is anti-human because he is pro collectivism and anti individualism. And his delusional flock eats that shit up!

Gary Johnson 2016 for now...

You'd think he would know about Rogers v. Bellei and United States v Wong Kim Ark... both cases say he is a naturalized citizen and not eligible for the presidency. Bellei even says he is not a Constitutional citizen at all, that his citizenship is completely statutory.

You guys have lost it. Rand is EXTREMELY unlikable. Everyone I talk to outside of the liberty movement thinks he's annoying, short, goofy hair, etc. He has ZERO chance of even being considered for VP by any candidate. I love Rand - I'm just telling you the cold hard truth about what people think. Embrace reality people.

The only reason they would even think about giving Rand the VP spot would be to get him out of the senate.

Unfortunately I found this to be true... all the while praising his very ideas when they are stolen by other candidates. The media has done a great job marginalizing him.

Noticed the following email in my spam this am:

Cruz for America: Rand Paul Supporters Endorse Ted Cruz [email protected]

Fellow Conservative:
There is a strong wave of liberty movement leaders in early primary states stepping up to support Ted Cruz for President.

Rand Paul’s New Hampshire campaign chairman, state senator Kevin Avard, and other leadership endorsed Cruz because he will fight for the Constitution, protect the Second Amendment, and take on the establishment.

...bla bla donate..

John Drogin
Executive Director, Make DC Listen
Cruz for Senate Campaign Manager, 2012

Typical no shame team Cruz. Didn't the guy say he specifically would not endorse Cruz or was that another guy?

I don't think Cruz will be the nominee. People keep talking about polling among evangelicals. I think even evangelicals have seen that a candidate will say certain things. Once elected, they forget what they ever said. The Constitution is correct. There is no relgious test, and I think it's for a good reason. People will say anything to get elected.

I got that one too. I wonder how they got my email. Fuck Cruz.

Whole premise of this thread is wrong. Cruz will never be the nominee so he won't need to pick any VPs.

Won't happen. Rand is holding on to Kentucky for us.
Cruz will pick Rubio hands down no questions asked. Need to win FL.

Thanks for helping the Democrats win.

I think Cruz does not have to pick Rubio, but Rubio
must find a bright way to buy off Cruz! Cruz could
offer the VEEP job to MITT and DONALD at the same
time as he sets both guys against each other. Then
he goes to Mitch McConnell an' asks him to muzzle Marco.
That way, when he eats crow, its done privately and well.

Go another one, is this true? I think they got my email from Campaign for Liberty somehow..

Fellow Conservative:

Congressman Justin Amash just endorsed Ted Cruz for President calling him “a principled defender of the Constitution.”

“We owe it to our beliefs to find constitutional conservative political allies who not only respect our philosophy but also fight for our views to be heard, said Amash. "We have found such an ally in Senator Ted Cruz.”

So you talked to 2 people, thats nice.

Working within the GOP, I found that typical party loyalist Republicans really like Rand, except on foreign policy.

Most people outside of political fanaticism don't really know much about the candidates but we do know, from polls, that Rand is relatively favorable (contrasted to other candidates) with independents.

But you know, let's just take whatever we hear the the Thanksgiving dinner table and accept that as full reality.

I dont think the GOP establishment will back Cruz, hes too polarizing on a national level. Plus hes Canadian. The lawsuits have already begun.

What is the definition of "Natural Born"?

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The Twelfth Amendment states, "No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

Cruz doesn't qualify for President OR Vp. Why has he been allowed to proceed this far? More evidence that neither party really cares about the Constitution, except when pandering for votes

Did Ron Paul Inc. and Jesse Benton accept a bribe from the dishonest warmonger punk Cruz for an endorsement? Does anyone care?

The Cruz endorsement was the beginning of the fall of Paul. I wouldn't vote for Cruz if someone held a gun to my head.
