nice self plugging mate.... your immigration policy is nothign like Dr Paul's, and sounds more like Hillary's to me. Where are the Tancredo's and Paul's of Idaho on this issue?

Nemitz is nutz about immigration. Your policy would still allow these illegals access to our Idaho, illegals who just recently raped a 10 year old girl in St Anthony 9 months ago and just gave birth yesterday to the child from such. No thanks Nemitz, not until you really want to do something about immigration.

Louis,

My first thought on your post is - - an intelligent voter weighs more than one issue when choosing how to cast a vote.

Instead of posting hate-filled racist comments about one unfortunate incident, why don't you post advice that is meaningful, and reflects a majority opinion? You probably are aware that child-rape is also commited by legal citizens, as well as illegals? So what is your point? A criminal is a criminal, and the law will deal with the man in question above.

The betterimmigration.com survey is on the edge of fraudulent. Simpson did not submit the survey, yet his rating is higher than mine.

This is the Survey and Position Paper of Americans for Better Immigration, the owners of betterimmigration.com:

http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2008/candidatesurvey2008.html

You may notice that the main focus of their position is against illegal immigration, and the problems that millions of illegals bring to our county's infrastructure.

I am not "nutz" about immigration, I oppose illegal immigration as much as you do.

People who want to know more about my opinion on immigration should take the time to visit my web page where I discuss the issue. It is here: http://www.nemitz.net/2008/immigration.html

I am interested in learning what the >majority< of the people of the Second District want done in Congress about illegal immigration, legal immigration and other matters relating to the population of our country. After the primary election, if I win that vote, before the November general election I will implement a Citizens Advisory Council to advise me on all issues of concern of Second District voters. See more about that here: http://www.nemitz.net/council/index.html

Will Mike Simpson implement a Citizens Advisory Council? Has Mike Simpson listened to YOU and your concerns? Will he do so during his next term, if he wins?

People who want to cast their vote for their priorities, should weigh ALL the issues and make an informed decision. Can you make an a current and informed decision about Mike Simpson? See his campaign website here: http://www.simpsonforcongress.org/default.html It is >really< current and informative, for the 2006 election. The copyright date at the bottom is 2005. Simpson has so little respect for his constituents, he hasn't bothered in the least to inform you about 2008 issues and affairs via his political website. Voters should consider those facts, before re-electing a RINO incumbent, over a Ron Paul Conservative Republican

Best Regards,
Gregory Nemitz

Louis,

Here is some messages I got back from Mike Simpson on some issues, inculding the North American Union that Idaho had pass H.J.5 opposing it.

the Abolition of the Federal Reserve System!

Thank you for contacting me regarding the economic policies of the Federal Reserve (FED). I am glad to have the opportunity to address your concerns.

Founded by Congress in 1913, the FED's responsibilities are defined as follows:

conducting the nation's monetary policy;
supervising and regulating banking institutions and protecting the credit rights of consumers;
maintaining the stability of the financial system, and
providing certain financial services to the U.S. government, the public, financial institutions, and foreign official institutions
The Chairmanship of the FED, a position currently occupied by Ben Bernanke, is not an elected position. The FED is designed to conduct monetary policy largely insulated from political pressure. The Chairman is appointed by the President of the United States.

President Bush first nominated Bernanke as FED Chairman in 2006 to replace retiring Chairman Alan Greenspan. As FED chief, he controls U.S. monetary policy by influencing short-term interest rates and, in turn, the cost of credit to American companies and consumers.

A criticism occasionally leveled at the Fed is that in raising interest rates to fight inflation it actually makes inflation worse. This theory is not widely accepted by economists. Interest rate increases slow demand for goods and service when demand exceeds supply, decreases the money supply, and slows inflation. Raising interest rates increases borrowing costs for many households, small businesses, and individuals, especially those with unpaid credit card balances. The main reason for the FED’s latest increase of interest rates is that the constant need for workers has driven the country’s unemployment rate to 3.9%, the lowest in 30 years. Under the circumstances, the FED was concerned employers would begin offering workers inflationary wages in order to attract them, causing a situation in which too much money chases too few goods. This kind of inflation caused widespread hardship throughout the country in the 20th century.

The FED’s policies, especially under former Chairman Alan Greenspan, have played an important role in safeguarding the prosperity of our economy and making stability a manageable goal. These risk-weighed monetary initiatives have proven successful in pulling the American economy from the debts of a gargantuan inflation and keeping it active and growing.

While our views in the minds of the FED’s policies differ, I appreciate your effort to keep me informed of your thoughts. Please continue to keep me informed on other matters of interest to you.

Sincerely,
S
Mike Simpson

The North American Union, and I did sent messages to remind him of Idaho's H.J.M. 5, a joint memorial which opposes the creation and/or implementation of the North American Union. The message I got back from Senator Crapo is no better.

Thank you for contacting me regarding the North America Supercorridor Coalition. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Since the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), many have questioned the possibility of constructing a “super-highway” connecting Mexico, the United States, and Canada. In reality, this “super-highway” existed before the ratification of NAFTA in the form of I-35, which runs from the Mexican/Texas border to the Minnesota/Canadian border.

Much of the recent press involving the supposed construction of a “super-highway” has been centered on North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition, Inc. This group is a nongovernmental nonprofit agency which actively promotes an increase of trade between the members of NAFTA. This group’s efforts to maximize trade between the North American nations are purely private, and they are not affiliated with any government agency.

In addition, there is currently no effort in Congress to create a North American Union or a common currency between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This rumor may have started as a result of a report published in March 2005 by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) titled Building a North American Community, which recommends the establishment of a North American economic and security community by 2010. The CFR is an independent think tank and has no affiliation with the U.S. government.

Once again, thank you for taking time to write to me with your concerns. The thoughts and opinions of Idahoans are important to me as your Representative in the United States Congress. I also encourage you to visit my website at www.house.gov/simpson to sign up for my weekly e-newsletter and to read more about my views on a variety of issues.

Sincerely,

S

From Senator Mike Crapo, even thow Idaho had pass H.J.M. 5, a joint memorial which opposes the creation and/or implementation of the North American Union

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

You may be pleased to know that the United States is not considering merging with Mexico and Canada. On March 23, 2005, the U.S., Canada, and Mexico created the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), a joint effort to increase security and enhance prosperity among the United States, Canada, and Mexico through greater cooperation and information-sharing. The SPP builds upon, but is separate from, long-standing trade and economic relationships. It energizes other aspects of our cooperative relations, such as the protection of the environment, food supply and public health.

We must maintain the proper balance between ensuring strong relations with our nation's closest neighbors - Canada and Mexico - while preserving trade and the integrity of our nation's borders. In pursuit of this balance, please be certain that I will continue to focus on these concerns and be watchful for any proposals that may erode the integrity of our borders. Additionally, I will continue to support efforts in Congress to commit the resources necessary to have the strongest border enforcement realistically possible.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future on this or any other matter of importance to you in the future. For information concerning issues being considered by the United States Senate, please visit my website www.crapo.senate.gov.

Sincerely,
Mike Crapo

Oh Please.
Even hard-core Libertarians and Anarcho-Capitalists. Disagree on the immigration issue.

If that's your only gripe, then support him.

As for myself, I'm a bit closer to libertarian orthodoxy on the immigration issue. I might actually like Nemitz better if that's his only difference.

Tracy

Here is the outcome.

Mike Simpson [R] 49,631 85%
Jack Wayne Chappell [R] 4,900 8%
Gregory Nemitz [R] 3,746 6%

I voted for him, and distributed his fliers and urged others to do so as well -- but yes, I vehemently disagree with his stance supporting immigration apparently as did others. I supported him for the local economics issues but thought that he could have done better to bring up more then just water rights and a few other proposals for his platform. He ought to have supported a nearly identical RP platform, but with tougher immigration stances for Idaho, and done his best to blast this news out from every corner of Idaho.
