I voted for the first time today. This is what I saw...

I'm 48. I'm old. And yet I'm a devoted supporter of Ron Paul and work everyday to convert people to also support him.

This is our country too and you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss us as useless. Baaad move. Alienate the old.....see what good it does for the cause. Fools.

(Not necessarily referring to you Grace.)

maybe you don't understand what people tend to refer to as "old." I was talking about "senior citizens," that 65+ demographic.

With all the derogatory comments I am reading on these posts about "old people", I am wondering why you are supporting that 72 year old geezer Ron Paul. So-called "supporters" like you are hurting the campaign. Why don't you grow up?

I'm in NH too. Just got back from poll checking for the morning shift. I saw the same things actually. This is not negativity, it's reality.

Obama has been attracting crowds of 2000 - 3000 several times a day for the last 3 - 4 days.

Hi, from a mostly lurking n00b. :D

I was channel surfing the talking head channels and Lou Dobbs had a piece where the reporter showed Obama talking to overflow crowds at one of his rallies. Many of the people interviewed loved Obama's message and charisma, but when asked about Obama's positions on various issues, didn't have a clue. Scary, but not surprising, really, these days.

Senator Obama does seem to have been anointed as the new Kennedy since the Iowa caucuses.

There are at least 4 votes for Dr. Paul waiting to be cast in TX, from folks aged (at time of casting) 19, 48, 78, and 80. ;)

Preaching to the choir here, but the only message of 'change' that rings true is that of Dr. Paul, and his change is 'back to (Constitutional) basics'.

I hate sheeple. Every demography is represented on this board, age/sex/race aren't the problems, it's sheeple! Those fuckers are sheeple, end of story!

Don't hate them... talk to them! It takes time but we have to warn them about what is going on in this country.

Forget this hatred of groups... THAT is stupid.
Try to educate them. It's our only hope.

Why does it seem like the kids who get up in arms over a candidate never seem to get out to VOTE for them? I saw this with Dean last time around.

I guess it's easy to get into a crowd and wave signs and digg stories on digg and blow away click polls... but when it comes to the absolute most important part of the campaign, I hope the 18-24 decides to actually show up this time.

Old people don't "suck."

Old people vote. They're represented. Young people don't vote. They're not represented. That's statsitically how it's been for .. hell, as long as I can remember.

You're right.

Alex - work with the canvassers and help identify the folks who would vote for RP but are just too stupid or lazy to get out to the polls. Give them a ride to the polls. Your Precinct Captain should know who to start identifying, and the people canvassing right now should be identifying new people who will also be too lazy and need a ride to the polls.

Yes. Alex and Question_Authority.
1) Call your family and ALL your friends and make sure they show up and vote for Ron Paul. Tell them how important it is to you. Offer them rides or whatever it takes.

2) Get in contact with EVERYONE in the meetup. Make sure every single member votes for Ron Paul.

3) Get in touch with your precinct captain to go over the list of Ron Paul supporters that haven't voted yet.

4) If you can't do #3. Find more Ron Paul voters and make sure they vote.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN WIN! Godspeed and Goodluck!

When you went to the poll to vote, did you take anyone else with you? That's the key point. We can do nothing about what other people do, only what we do.

Well my family is voting for Ron Paul so does that count? Anyways my mom is about to call a list of people who are supposed to vote for Ron Paul in our area. I have some ideas that might work and I'm gonna call them.

I don't get how people can listen to things obama says he'll do, things like health care, for instance, and not ever stop and think.... hmmm health care for all sounds good, but who's going to pay for it?

i don't get it.. are the american people (with exclusions) really that oblivious? are we that shallow thinking as a society?

to combat this I'm going to start asking obamaites whether they have a job and whether they would like to pick up the tab on my next hospital stay. or when i don't feel like paying my mortgage on my home because my brand new car is much cooler....

Why do people fool themselves election after election into thinking young people are going to be the difference makers? If you're counting on that you've lost before you started. Of course it's the old people, they've been doing this election thing for a while you know.

That's my whole point, doesn't matter who you are and where you are from. Most f**kers out there are stupid as sh**.
The cry-baby defeatist train is full, and they aren't taking on more passengers.

Do your part, or give it a rest.

Older folks, like my parents, may agree with Paul's foreign policy, but they are terrified he is going to abolish Medicare and/or SSec. What they don't realize is, that is a good thing.

He has assured the seniors over and over that his policy on SS, etc. will not affect those who are dependent on it now. His goal is to get young people off the roles so they can keep their money and make their own decisions about retirement.

Tell them that. Please.

Very true. Obama is reminding us that substance doesn't matter to the average person. It's all about hype. But, I was completely hopless about the human race until I started hanging out here and going to my meetup. There are still some smart people out there

..

Americans in general don't wonder who's going to pay for anything... they don't even wonder how THEY are going to pay for anything as evidenced by the credit card debt, lack of savings and sub-prime mortgage disaster....

Why the hell would they apply logical question of economics to Obama when they don't even apply it to themselves?

I try, oh lord I try. I canvas like crazy, they are just fucking stupid! 90% of the population I meet going door-to-door are fucking stupid sheeple and if they didn't see it on FOX then it ain't true!

Forget this hatred of groups... THAT is stupid.

Nah. Hating groups is so much easier. Then when we lose, we can blame them instead of ourselves.

<sighs>

I'm just so burnt out on this at times. It's just like every other campaign I've worked with. We get right to the edge and then we just seem to not analyze our mistakes for places to improve. We just blame everything but what we did wrong.

I wouldn't worry too much about this morning, although the independant votes going towards Obama alarms me.

The rich are supposed to pay for everyone else. They are successful and smart and so they must pay.
