I think you should stop identifying yourself to people on the phone. If they don't know who they are calling, they don't NEED to know who they are calling.
1. When somebody asks for me, I will almost always ask who is calling before I identify myself. It's a good have it establish.
2. Consider changing your answering greeting to default (as mentioned before) or something like "you have reached 987-654-3210. Please leave a message." Somebody who knows you will recognize your voice to know they got you. Those who don't know you should know the number they dialed. Those who dialed a wrong number will find that out too and not call back.
3. Be sensitive to the possibility that somebody is trying to place your 'whereabouts.' The advice of not answering unknown numbers is sound.
