He would be on TV every night about this ridiculous economy and win in a landslide. Obama and McCain seem impotent on the subject. He would have millions in free media.

No he wouldn't. They would ignor the crap out of it. Ron would be looking about the same as Nader/Barr.

If Ron Paul had really wanted to be president he would have done so. I am convinced he wanted to start a Liberty movement therefore I consider him very successful. Long Live RON PAUL! Tones

At least Ron Paul laid the groundwork for us to move forward. Without him, I may still think that I was crazy for believing that the Constitution still means something. I have always felt like something was wrong, and now I know what it is.

Ron Paul as President would inherit the economic meltdown. The media would make it look like he was making it worse and he would not be able to control Congress or the Fed. Ron Paul will gain much more by letting someone else inherit the meltdown and continuing to look like the genius that he is and continuing to be the go-to guy for all of the news programs.

This is pretty much exactly what I've been thinking lately.

You talk like you remember the Carter administration.

Either "major" candidate who announces their intent to have RP as an economic advisor or Sec of the Treasury will win this thing in a landslide. I truly believe people are coming around.

Well. MOST people. I got in a n argument today with a guy who said he could never support RP because he is a religious fanatic. Jackass would not listen to ONE WORD I said. I'm dropping off a copy of the revolution tomorrow, as well as Judge Napolitano's book.

He would almost certainly be on the MSM a lot less if there was a chance he could be president.

No, he wouldn't be on all the time and convincing people to vote third party. They'd ignore him, and they sure as heck wouldn't let him take part in debates! And I don't know how many people actually have the news on often enough to catch him in a rare interview.

Seriously, this is completely beyond Dems/Repubs/Indepedents.

This country is fucked. Legit fucked.

Ron really needs to run third party go give this country a fuckin chance.

What he has accomplished in the last year is far more important. It's too late to run third party at this point.

This is why I keep trying to tell people that the Revolution is far from over and to stop acting like the Presidency is the ultimate goal. It's not, the freedom of this country from all forms of statist tyranny is. The '08 Paul campaign served to help call the troops out of the various disparate cracks of this society to which they had been marginalized and exiled. It also served to put the ideas of constitutional/libertarian government into the national debate at just the time in which people would need to be hearing them, during the economic meltdown, in order to buffer the sheep from buying into the fear campaign of the new dealer/socialist crowd in power.
His reaching out to the New Left crowd of the Nader/Greens variety was a brilliant tactical move for the long run. It shows his willingness to team up with people of different political stripes in order to defeat the common enemy. It will help grow the movement in the long run especially if Obama wins and then proceeds to stab the left leaning anti-war sheep in the back like we here all know he will. It will help disillusion the liberal sheep and drive them into the ranks of the liberty movement just like Bush's betrayals helped build this movement by opening the eyes of conservatives to the hypocrisy of the neo-con run GOP.
This current economic meltdown has only served to make my friends, family and acquaintances call me and ask for advice on how to protect themselves from the downturn. I tell them hard currencies like gold/silver/platinum. I believe that this is happening with many of the other Paul supporters who were warning their people of this shitstorm like I was. This is why gold is skyrocketing right now. Those of us who have private reserves are sitting pretty while our detractors are panicking about how to save the money in their rapidly diminishing portfolios.
The '08 campaign only served to swell and harden the ranks of freedom lovers and put us in position to be the light amidst the darkness of the coming statist onslaught of authoritarian edicts and the hitlerian terror tactics the elite plan to use to enforce them. The highly decentralized form that the '08 campaign took forced the various state grassroot movements to take charge of their own back yard and served to help groom the next group of freedom fighters by forging them in the fire of neo-con dominated Republican Party politics.
This next phase will be the further gaining of trust and credibility and the rise of highly funded and organized liberty minded congressional, senatorial and state level candidates that have the political clout to truly challenge and defeat the system from the bottom up by securing stronger positions inside mainly the Republican but also the Democrat and evidently now the Libertarian parties during the '10 mid-term election. This is guerrilla political warfare and we have the numbers to wear these fascists down through electoral attrition. Every battle for office will help us gain support, donors, allies and destroy the credibility of the low level sycophantic leaches that parasitically feed on the authority granted to them by their aristocratic puppet masters.
Strap up your boots my fellow winter soldiers spring is coming. The revolution has just begun.
