Forgive me if there is already a thread concerning this, but I was unable to find one when doing a forum search. Forgive me again if I put this in the wrong place, as I am not quite sure which forum to put this in.

I am in the process of writing an article, much like the one posted here.
I have already written the first part, going a little more in-depth than Mr. Glenn before me. (See above article)

I have already the thread on the compilation of verifiable facts against Dr. Paul, and have used what I could.

For the second part of the article I want to talk about the media blackout. I have a few pictures here and there and a few articles saved here and there of things like "Gingrich surges to first, Romney to third" and other things to that extent. But I would like much much more!


TL;DR - I need pictures, videos and links to articles showing the Ron Paul blackout from 2007-2012.

I've seen oodles and boodles of YouTube videos on the subject and have them all favorited, I'm just trying to get as much as is out there, hence the thread. I have a comfortable amount of videos, but not so much pictures and articles.

and don't forget the studies, Pew on multiple occasions showing Ron had the least media by far even when he was polling near the top. A university in Minnesota did a study that found the same.

what is super frustrating about this also is Ron surged to 21% in second place in February before Super Tuesday and is the ONLY of the surging candidates who did not get a 'Ron Paul surges!" media turn with an introduction, and only then followed by tearing him down. Instead even Reuters, whose national GOP poll it was buried Ron's results in paragraph five of the poll write up, and the media started saying the race was all over, and started a new newsletter cycle. then no other major poll came out for a couple of weeks (LONG time between polls that time) and when the next came out Ron was lower.

In the days after his runner-up finish to Michele Bachmann in Iowa’s August 13 GOP straw poll, Texas Congressman Ron Paul complained about a lack of media coverage, accusing the press of being “frightened by me challenging the status quo and the establishment."

As pundits debate whether Paul is getting the attention he deserves, a PEJ analysis of campaign coverage this year indicates he is the 10th leading election newsmaker— trailing far behind non-candidates Donald Trump and Sarah Palin and as well as floundering Republican hopeful Newt Gingrich.

From January 1-August 14, Paul has been a dominant newsmaker in only 27 campaign stories. (To be considered a dominant newsmaker, someone must be featured in at least 50% of a story.) That is less than one-quarter of the media attention generated by former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (120 stories), who is the top newsmaker among Republican candidates. And he has received 25% as much coverage as Bachmann, the Minnesota Congresswoman (108 stories).

Paul’s coverage also lags far behind Trump (94 stories), who dallied with a run before opting out in mid-May and Palin (85 stories), who has given no indication to date that she will enter the race. In addition, Paul trails longshot candidate and former Utah governor Jon Huntsman (44 stories) and Texas Governor, Rick Perry (33 stories) who only announced his candidacy on August 13.

The only significant GOP candidates that Paul is besting are former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum (21 stories) and businessman Herman Cain (11 stories).

The top campaign newsmaker overall is incumbent President Barack Obama, at 221 stories.

In a further attempt to gauge the post-straw poll attention to Paul’s campaign, PEJ also used the Snapstream server’s closed captioning capability to assess the candidates’ television coverage in the first few days after that balloting.

The sample included the three network Sunday morning panel shows on August 14, the morning and evening network news programs on August 15 and four hours of prime-time cable and one hour of daytime from each of the three major cable news networks on August 15.

According to that analysis, Paul was mentioned just 29 times. By comparison, Perry was mentioned 371 times, Bachmann was mentioned 274 times, and Romney was mentioned 183 times.

and for a later one, written in Oct 2011, months after being only 200 votes shy of MB in the Iowa straw poll, this one came out. This makes Ron moving to first or tied for first in Iowa and surging to second in New Hampshire shortly after this even more amazing:

Their data examining coverage of many publications showed that he ranked dead last, No. 10, among all the Republicans whose coverage PEJ examined. It was only from the month of July and beyond that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich received less coverage than Paul did. When the mainstream media’s current narrative is supposedly driven by what various polls indicate, their dismissal of a candidate like Paul, who holds a top tier status, is quite puzzling- especially in light of the rise and fall of media-anointed candidates like Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Despite the Establishment media not acknowledging Paul as a serious candidate, he continues to make a strong showing in several major polls. In September, Dr. Paul placed a solid third in a USA Today/ Gallup Poll. A CNN/ORC poll also showed him to be in third place. The Congressman has even been successful in driving his supporters to straw polls in California and at the Conservative Political Action Conference, winning both.

Dr. Paul has sustained quite a bit of momentum in October as well. He’s placed third in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll of likely Republican voters, continuing his string of strong finishes. As another presidential debate approaches tonight in Las Vegas, a Project New West Poll places Dr. Paul in 4th place in the field of current candidates.

I started looking there, there was a time when we started a thread compiling pictures and articles for just this kind of thing, and that thread is in there somewhere. Finally we pulled a couple of things together and the rest should still be in that thread. I hadn't found it yet when I started thinking of these, one memory triggered another.

In a Dec. 4 column, I wrote about journalists’ reflex to impose their own narrative on a race, a dynamic that can eclipse what candidates are actually saying. Well, as last week’s Iowa caucuses demonstrated, the Republican nomination contest steadfastly resists any coherent narrative.

Early in the campaign, The Times decided to remain low key in its coverage of Ron Paul, the libertarian Texas congressman, and Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator. Their strong showings on Tuesday, following the serial derailments of other contenders, showed just how hard it is for the paper to read the plotline of this contest.

There was also a thorough report from Pew Research that showed the media absolutely did ignore Ron Paul. I don't have a link to the full report handy, only prior mini reports from 2011 such as this one:

That was a problem? Not the media doing their job. Also do you know how many people voted for Ron Paul vs. went to watch him speak. I'll give you a hint, the blackout killed him.

It's threads like these that remind me why I love Ron and not Rand.

Prove us all wrong please Rand. Please prove that your dad had a personality problem. Prove that this country is still even worth saving as is. Please resources to seem to be building in excess like other groups and we are wasting valuable time and money on vanity.
