I kept having these Kubrickian nightmare visions of being pelted with unripened nectarines by men with crewcuts and perfect posture, all of them furiously admonishing me to "get lost, hippie!"

I feel seriously crappy right now.

Go man Go! We went to our local GOP Executive meeting last week, the night before our primary and we made up over 2/3rds of the people in attendance... closer to HALF! They were very nice to us by the way! lol

Edit to add: By the way, I have long hair, and another of our group does too.. just don't dress like a hippie (tie hair back, wear a sport coat, etc.) and don't act like a hippie.. trust me, they won't call you a hippie!

haha, I went to an establishment republican party at a high class bar on super tuesday. I went with a friend from my meetup to collect ballot access signatures. It was a truly horrifying experience. I dressed up nice, shaved, had a good haircut, and I still stuck out like a sore thumb. They all knew I was different. I was more alive, I moved too much and had spoke too dynamically. I had the pleasure of talking with plenty of hannity listeners, guiliani recluses, and romneyites.

It was excruciatingly uncomfortable.
