I just filed to become a state delegate in Indiana; it was so easy. This is the last week!

The county clerk and my county chair were kind and helpful as always.

It's such a simple process. Anyone can do it who voted Republican in their last primary, you just have to fill out a Declaration of Candidacy. If you haven't voted in a primary yet, you can still become a delegate by pledging support to the GOP.

If you are interested in becoming a delegate, you have until Friday at noon to file. Get in touch with Melissa Burger at [email protected] to ensure you are filing properly.

Bump.. Brokered convention is extremely likely this year. Don't underestimate the delegate powers.. Go go go!!

I just filed in Indiana today as well. I moved to a new address in January and had to fill out another voter registration form today for my new address even though it is just down the street from my old address. Also, since I didn't live/vote in Indiana last election cycle I have to speak to the Republican Party Chairman for his signature so that it cannot be contested. I'll get that taken care of tomorrow.

I wonder if she married into the Burger family or was just born with a name that awesome.

Awesome, good work!

Married into it

Good luck, Austin. Be sure to let us know when you have a webpage up and running.
I don't think I'll be needing a website. There is such a low participation rate that I doubt I'll even be on the ballot. That was the scenario in 2008. In 2010 I was in DC with YAL, so I missed the deadline to file. My county chairman appointed me.

But I think I'll be running for precinct committeeman as well.

I filed too.
It took me 2 to 5 minutes at the election office. It was very easy. No one looked at me like I was crazy. A clerk asked my name and address and then told me what numbers to fill out. I signed it. She signed it. I was done.

Would you be so kind as to post a reply about it here?

I wish I could get answers....I'm a delegate wanna be, but I can't figure out what district I'm in, I thought it was 8.
If someone can help, I'd appreciate it. I'm a old man, but a newbie at this stuff.

Go to the Ron Paul Grassroots section of the forum, and one of the Stickies at the top has State by State info you need.

Check your Private Messages. You'll find Melissa's contact information; she should be able to help you out.

Alternatively, you can head to your local election office. Give them your address, and they will likely help you fill out the appropriate district information.

Called the Party Chairman today who was quite hostile. Asked me if I was a Ron Paul supporter to which I wanted to say no, but my honesty got the better of me. He asked why I was wanting to be a delegate, why I hadn't asked prior to this how I could help the party, etc. The second I said that I was a Ron Paul supporter he told me he would not sign for me until I had voted in a Primary in Indiana. Overall, not a very nice guy. Sorry, guys/gals.

You said yes? You don't become a stealth delegate by declaring your support to Ron Paul. Let me guess, you told him your name too so they can finger you at the state convention? Thus signaling that anyone you vote for is a Ron Paul supporter.
