I just changed my voter registration in solace with the Ron Paul delegates

So what else will these registered republicans do now, abstain from voting (Read: not doing a DAMN thing)? Why stay Republican if you're just going to be a meek observer?

Well, personally I planned on writing in Ron Paul. It's more of a matter of staying true to what I believe in and not compromising on principles. Gary Johnson would be a compromise vote for me, and you couldn't pay me to vote for Romney. In fact, I despise him so much, that I would vote for Obama if I had no way to vote for Ron Paul instead - just to make sure he doesn't win. But I don't think he's going to, honestly. We're all scattering to the wind, which sucks, but I hope we can regroup when the time comes and use the leverage we gained this time around to further a liberty candidate. It's really hard starting from the ground up. The GOP has the media coverage and unfortunately that's something you need in this country to reach the average voter.

Sorry, that was a long-winded response.

Well, writing in Ron Paul is great and all, but it is an emotion based action that will have NO practical consequences. Your vote will be thrown into the litter box and although GJ disagrees with RP on maybe 5% of the issues, it'll send a stronger message to the GOP to not take us for granted. Even though the LP is filled with many hacks, I'm supporting the candidate that I agree with 98% of the time, if we all lived in an idealist world, we'd never get anything solved. I mean GJ is willing to Audit the Fed, abolish it as well, bring the troops home, cut militarism, end the TSA, balance the budget, protect our civil liberties, open up the markets, give us a practical solution to our tax code, End the IRS, and STILL some people think that's not enough? If people will be this stubborn, we will NEVER get even half of the things we've wanted.

I have just changed my party affiliation from Republican to Libertarian in solace with those Ron Paul delegates who had their positions and voices stripped.

Me too. It felt like taking a long, hot, refreshing shower. I don't feel dirty anymore.

the option "i do not wish to enroll in a party" will that unregister me from the system? in the new york voter registration form thing?

How cowardly. Lying and using misinformation to further your own personal agenda. Isn't that what you were JUST claiming to be railing against?

If you checked the poll in the grassroots not long ago, more than 99% of us responded we were not voting for Mitt. Cut the nonsense, the lies, the slander, and the disinformation to further your own nonsensical, egotistical position.

I'm getting a laugh out of all of you that thinks the GOP wants us to LEAVE... Yea right! They want us to stay in the fold and throw us little bones so we'll be obedient little followers. Even Newt thinks 90% of us will fall in line and all of you that will vote for Mitt or stay Republican this year are falling for their bait. I'm registering Libertarian and voting GJ, the rest of you sheeple can fall in line and get absorbed by the disgusting GOP, NOT the other way around.

It is incredibly easy to switch back to Republican so if a liberty candidate does come back on the scene, I will be right there voting for them, but for now, I'd be much happier seeing the #'s for registered Republicans take a nosedive. The rest of you (probably Neo-Cons and So-Cons) can go along to get along. Like someone said, the GOP isn't a church or temple to pledge my allegiance to. They have to EARN my support, and with what happened this week, I'll say good luck to them, I'm voting for the real liberty candidate while the rest of you can vote for Mittens and be led to your slaughter.

WTH are you talking about? No, I didn't check the poll.. If you just want to remain a Republican to be a wallflower, fine. If you want to stay a Republican to write in RP (completely impractical), then go for it. But please stop criticizing those who actually are voting for a candidate that aligns with RP, and stop acting all high and mighty like WE are the sell-outs.

In response to the op.

Well done. You now cannot be a committeeman, or any other position for at least a year. If they change the rules, it could be even longer.

You should stop accusing those of us who choose to work within the GOP as being voters for Romney. It's dishonest and a blatant attempt to further your own agenda.

You also conveniently ignore the fact one can remain a republican and vote for any other individual in the general election. One can remain a republican and become a committee member, or any other position. So please, stop the disinfo campaign.

You're entitled to do whatever it is you want to do in the way you want to do it, but you are saying a number of untrue and misleading things. If you persist, it'll be reported. Slandering fellow members is against the forum TOS.
