My letter to promote the MLK Money Bomb
Feel free to modify/use this if you think it will help. Don't even need to keep my name on it.
Greetings All,
Many of you are probably aware that the majority of the money that Ron Paul has raised has come in the form of "money bombs" or grassroots organized, 1-day internet fundraising events. I've been able to donate to the Teaparty money bomb and the November 5th money bomb as well as at other times.
Probably the last time that we will have a chance to do this will be January 21st, on Martin Luther King Day. No this isn't the last chance to donate money, but it may very well be the last chance to have a huge multimillion dollar fundraising day.
As you may also be aware the latest smear campaign by the mainstream media has been to try and portray Ron Paul as a racist based upon some politically charged (and possibly bigoted) articles published in a newsletter he had let be published under his name during the late 1980's and early 1990's. These articles have been outed for many years, Ron Paul long ago put the issue to rest by explaining that not only did he not write the articles, but he was not involved in the publication of the newsletters themselves. Even still, he has publicaly apologized and said he had a moral responsibility for these articles since they were published under his name. Nevertheless the MSM has brought them up no less than three different times during this campaign, the latest being last week.
Ron Paul went on CNN last Wednesday and once more explained the facts behind these news letters and again apologized and accepted that he had a moral responsibility for them since they were published under his name. During this interview he pointed out the fact that his campaign has a large amount of support from the African-American community, that during his entire political career he has supported the rights and freedoms of all individuals, and that for more than 30 years he has considered Civil Rights activists like Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks to be personal hero's of his due to their non-violent protest against unjust government laws. He also mentioned specifically that there would be another super fundraising day on Martin Luther King Day.
This January the donations to the official campaign have slowed dramatically. There are many reasons for this and it's not worth discussing them in detail here. But please, if you have any ability at all to do so, please consider donating to his campaign on January 21st. Of course any donation at any time is good, but a successful money bomb on Martin Luther King day will put the final nail in the coffin for the accusations of racism that have plagued Ron Paul's campaign. Both he, his campaign, and his supporters have a chance to prove, by our money, that we believe in civil liberties for all Americans, that this movement is the antithesis of a racist movement, and that freedom truly brings all of us together.
If you are interested there is a website promoting this money bomb. It is here

Personally I don't pledge to donate I just do it, so I haven't signed up, but of course anyone is free to do so. But even if you don't pledge please take January 21st as an opportunity to show the Republican Party, the media, and the American People that Ron Paul can continue to raise the money and bring in the supporters he needs to win in the General Election. Please forward this message to other meetup groups and anyone who you think will be willing to contribute. Thank you.
