I had to go through being on funeral detail when I was still in a couple years ago. A First Sergeant that died over there, if I remember right. It hits you like a brick after you set down the coffin and the family explodes into bitter sadness and then later thanks you for what you've done. Such loss. I'll never be able to describe it adequately.
