I agree with Ron Paul except on foreign policy

Thanks again guys... some good points... and seapilot those are very good points, however, I replied to him before I read your post. Here's what I said:

"I think that Iran going nuclear is really Israel's issue. Those two countries are the ones with the beef. Israel has 300 nuclear weapons and we are beating the wardrums here in the United States as if an Iranian nuclear weapon would be scary. I think we should let Israel decide how they want to handle the situation, and not have this talk about how soon should we interfere with two sovereign nations. If there's convincing evidence that Iran is threatening our national security or if Israel requests our aid, then I (and Ron Paul) believes that we should declare war through congress. As far as North Korea, yes, I think they are dangerous and they have been for a long time, but I don't think our presence in South Korea is what is preventing an attack. I think our involvement in South Korea only builds more resentment from North Korea. I believe it's our occupation that causes resentment, not our occupation that thwarts attacks.

And ultimately, we are broke. So... what you are saying is that we should be borrowing money from China to protect Taiwan against China? That does not make sense. Countries need to figure out how to defend themselves, bottom line. I don't know how any American can feel morally okay with the fact that we spend American lives and American money in defense of other nations, when most of the time they don't want us meddling in their affairs to begin with, especially when people are unemployed and lacking healthcare and basic needs here at home.

I think this is a pivotal time in history and it's important for us Americans to honestly look at our state of affairs... and make some tough decisions in order to come back out on top. I've always reasoned back to Ron Paul because, at the end of the day... he doesn't say these things just to say them. He believes what he believes from years of studying history and economics... and he is honest. When will we ever have a chance to actually have a president that isn't going to show us the smoke and mirrors and tell us everything is going to be okay while the floor crumbles beneath our feet?"

And what's wrong with this forum's search engine? Nothing as far as I can see:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/search.php?searchid=5308187

Seems like I see this thread title every third day, and always 'posted by x today.' I don't think we really need this tweeted three times a week...

Search for what? Someone asked the same exact question I asked? I searched for it.... didn't see it. I've argued this point many times with many people... I wanted the opinions of others of specifically what he said to me.... lighten up dude.

LoL, whats wrong is that no one wants to use it. I get really sick of these threads as the people they refer to deserve a shitty country and a shitty future. The old say goes, "you reap what you sow" I understand we want Ron Paul to be elected and we need to draw voters in order to do that but at some point we have to realize most Americans are psychopaths and maniacs. They have allowed the politicians to make things this way, it isn't as if the country just all of a sudden became this way, we have been heading down this road since the 70's.

Now there is this mad push to "wake everybody up?" It isn't going to happen and as many Christians know, sinners must be made to suffer for their sins. The best thing most of us here can do, after we have given as much as we are willing and able to the RP campaign, is prepare ourselves for the inevitable. But convincing the mindless is not a worthy cause, IMHO.

75% of Republicans I talk to say that they like Ron Paul except on his foreign policy

Sometimes I try to convince them. Usually I just cry some...

Well the idea is that since the thread titles posted in the Grassroots Central section get tweeted, it might not be the best idea to tweet out "I agree with Ron Paul except on Foreign Policy"

A better thread title might have been "Need Help Arguing Ron Paul Foreign Policy" or something along those lines.

Nothing wrong with starting this thread in GRC imo.

The good news is, the long term growth of the party is coming from the 25% WHO LIKE THE FOREIGN POLICY. The non-interventionist wing will be getting larger and larger with successive election cycles, assuming we have future elections.

i would like to see examples of places/conflicts where US did not intervene, though it was a humanitarian crisis.
The Govt always tells us that they want to help people out there by getting rid of dictators, etc, but these above examples would make it easier for people to see above the propaganda.
