HuffPost - Irresponsible Foreign Policy: The Republican Establishment, Not Ron Paul

Great article.

My favorite line:
But the man the GOP elite most fear is a genial 76-year-old congressman from Texas. He actually believes in something and remembers what it is.

lol!

outstanding article, really enjoyed it, thanks vm for posting it. my favorite paragraph.

"Republicans once elected war heroes, like Dwight Eisenhower, who understood the reality of war and sought to avoid it. This year Republican voters seem to favor draft avoiders in the mold of Richard "I had other priorities" Cheney whose desire to wreak death and destruction on other peoples expands as their refusal to serve when their country called grows more distant. When asked why none of his five sons had served, Romney explained that "one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping get me elected." (Perhaps they felt that working for their dad was a bit like serving in Fallujah.)"

huffPo folks thinks he maybe wrote the offensive newsletters
but they LOVE his foreign policy stances better than they:cool:
do jon huntsman's or mitt romney's? am keeping this in mind!

Ron Paul's stance on the drug war and military adventurism play very well to democrats, which is funny because the liberals were the origination of policing the world. The right loves his economic policies of limited government but implode on his foreign policy.

Is it so hard to see why this makes him the easiest win in 2012? I don't get it.

The fact that it's a Cato dude surprises me more than Huffpo publishing it. Nice of you to finally get on board, you inner-loop faux libertarians.

Keep in mind, Bandow is a libertarian. He's a policy wonk (or has been in the past) for CATO & the Independent Institute (better than CATO, imho)...

It's more surprising that HuffPo let's people like Bandow contribute in the 1st place. Just like Fox throws nuggets like Napolitano & Stossel to us (via their "Business" channel), HuffPo throws us some crumbs too.

They need to sell advertising... It is still a business, sort of...

And this will help zero with the Foxnews crowd. "Oh look, the liberal HuffPo published it, irrelevant". I got the same response to the MittvMitt video being from the DNC. It's as if they are simply incapable of looking outside of the box for fear of what is there. Fear is the antithesis of liberty.

WOW....HuffPost? I think i just saw a pig fly past my window

Not patting HuffPo on the back here only because we won't see such things during a GE in regards to Obama whom really is no better than the rest of these GOP candidates from Foreign Policy to the would be Polkice state all in the name of security.

Obama was praised by the GOP for his actions, the criticism only came cause they wanted him to do more. What he did was already enough. And anyone thinking that their is a real choice with Obama v. any GOP major contender besides Paul is deluded.

Just my .02

One imagines the GOP contenders enthusiastically dancing the Maori Haka, as if exuberant shouts and chants were enough to defend America.

Random shout-out :)
