Huckabee

Bill Richards has been speaking identical to Ron Paul policy all day! I was shocked to hear him. All of them have been reading Ron Paul's speeches, and stealing his ideas. But, that is okay, at least perhaps the other candidates are now learning to read the Constitution and having to think.

BTW, the latest resuts on Facebook....Which Republican candidate appeared the most "Presidential" during the debate? Ron Paul, 9,173 for 41%, Huck is second at 25%

One must be a member of Facebook to vote in this one. I had never belonged before tonight, but did it just to take part.

You guys are biased!

and so am I.

The average American that is half asleep did NOT see it the way we did.

I thought Ron expressed many good points of view, but I HAVE read and researched his ideas. I'm not sure he made much since in the beginning to most. (of course when you're being attacked on all sides it's hard to concentrate)

The average sheeple stared in dismay and wondered "just what exactly is this man talking about?"

Huckabee kept his mouth shut and and stayed out of the fray. When he did speak, he obviously quoted Ron Pauls message on numerous occasions, but said it in a way that sounded soothing to the average dim-wit.

The average American saw Douche thompson as "quick witted" and confident

I don't think Ron Paul lost any supporters but I don't think he gained many either.

I have accepted that most Americans aren't looking for someone that is going to give them complex ideas with substance to contemplate. They want someone that can deliver a very eloquent message that is comforting, someone that can make their message feel like it's coming from their father, pastor, mentor savior.

Fuck the lot of 'em!

We really need to be careful to ensure that we don't have Huckabee supporters infiltrating our forums.

I know some people here have misrepresented themselves to get into the Huckabee forums. I have no doubt that Huckabee supporters do the same here.
First off I don't think most Huckabee supporters know how to use the internet. And more importantly so what if they infiltrate, it's not like they're going to steal votes away from us.

Not at all.

Huckabee was attacked strongly for his comments that the Bush administration has an arrogant foreign policy. He gave a flakey, disingenuous response to it, and he was called out on it.

He wasn't attacked where it hurts, and that's his TAX & SPEND WAYS! Nobody cares about the fine details of whether he criticized Bush or his policy. Hell, they don't care about details for the most part. Ron's responce in a previous debate was better when he called out the other candidates for being armchair generals!

You really thought Huckabee sounded most thoughtful? Those are your own rose-tinted glasses. That might be a great analysis if this were Iowa, but it's not, that game is over, and Huckabee will be left in the dust if he thinks what played in Iowa will play in New Hampshire.

Beyond that, Huckabee was largely ignored because he is not a significant player in New Hampshire.

This was broadcast nation-wide, and Huckabee is owning the south and midwest bible belt. We all knew he would lose NH. He only has to beat Fred to 'win' NH.

I wish you guys would stop calling people who give positive comments about the other candidates performances trolls. How in the world can we have an interesting convo here without some objectivity.

I, for one, am enjoying learning about the debate through the varying opinions. Please allow people to voice their perceptions without calling them names.

Ron won. Why? Because he told the truth, again.

He schooled the candidates and the American public.

I don't consider a candidate a winner when he tells you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear.

Exactly, idiot Americans care about how something is said, not what's said.

and lmao at Thompson, he looks like he's a few hours away from death's doorstep but he was kind of quick and "witty" tonight. He must have popped some ecstasy or something.

This is flat out false. Even the mainstream media post-debate commentators said as much.

I didn't have a stopwatch so maybe he didn't, but he SEEMED to (perhaps because I find him more annoying). He definitely seemed to have the most non-argumentative face-time, which I think counts for a lot. He took his time when answering questions, while Ron rushed his answers like he was watching the clock on the House floor.

Keeping in mind that we already know that Ron supporters dominate Facebook...

Is Huckleberry known for being big on facebook, because if not I would say that poll validates my impression.

Sorry Dary,

I agree, but it's not about what you think. It is about what the average American sheeple think. Ron's message speaks truth to you and me because we are awake, but not to Johnny Public.

I admire Ron for telling the truth, unfortunately the majority decides who "wins" and telling the truth has NOTHING to do with it.

Sad but true bro.

arbnranger,

I think we see eye-to-eye on this, with the exception of your last dismissive statement.

All we have to do is engage these people and open their eyes using their language, and also call out their false prophet.

Won or lose, this movement has opened a lot of eyes. We need to press on regardless.

hahaha..tell me Thompson didn't do a few lines before he came out??

This is not an intellectual debate (at least in the narrow sense). This is a job interview.

I'm not good at job interviews and often don't get hired for jobs I'm the most qualified for. It's just the way it is. The only solution is to learn the dance, or find a way to get around it.

Totally agree...

I'm just referring to the debate tonight.

I've already opened many eyes and will continue to try.

He got completely drowned out during the foreign policy discussion. He should have said something like "excuse me, I'm not finished. You had your time, now let me have mine".

I thought that at first too. But, I think it ultimately helped RP. It really made the others look like overbearing, warmongering control freaks. Remember, most people want us to bring our troops home.

Did you wake up because someone lied to you? Or was it because someone told you the truth and something stirred in you so you verified it for yourself?

Truth always wins. Now whether or not the sleepers acknowledge it or not, we shall see.

True, but they also like the comfort of a consensus.

I won't pretend to know how everyone reacted to that, but Ron didn't get his full message out. We have to depend on people to do their own research (and for the official campaign to put a decent ad on TV).

I see your point Dary I don't disagree with you bro.

I woke up not because someone told me the truth.
I woke up because I was LOOKING for the truth.

cheers anyway

Ron Paul 2008!!!
