The national sales tax that Huck wants to implement produces the same amount of revenue, which is to say, the American people will still pay the SAME amount of taxes. But while the income tax is progressive, the flat tax isn't, which would likely really hurt the poor and middle class families.
Why doesn't Huckabee rather cut taxes on the income tax or have a less revenue producing sales tax? Because he doesn't want to cut spending since he would be a HUGE spender. He wants to subsidize basically everything in not only in America, but also in the middle east. He wants us to pay for the rebuilding, education, health, etc. of the Iraqi people and who knows else where in the world, as stated in his CFR article. Changing the tax system and even cutting taxes is all rather insignificant because you HAVE TO CUT SPENDING. If you don't cut spending, we'll pay for it by inflation through the Federal Reserve, or let our grandchildren pay for it with interest when we borrow billions per day from other countries.
If Huck becomes our president, say bye bye to the U.S. dollar and economy.
