Huckabee: I will make an important announcment this weekend

If we got endorsement or support from Huck, that would be great. We already had his prior #1 fan, Chuck Norris leaning our way.

This is good for Ames!

Time to appeal to the Huck peeps to come on over to the dark side

Not tonight. I was reading the comments at Hot Air, and the Huck supporters are getting raked over the coals there. I remember how devastated we were when Ron Paul finally gave us his "electoral win isn't possible" speech. If somebody had suggested that we jump on board with their candidate that day, we would have ripped their internet heads off.

Call me empathetic, but they believed in him as much as we believe in our man., and I feel bad for them tonight. They didn't even get a chance to fight the fight they were prepping for.

That was just awful for his supporters. He should have just said so via mailing list and not have hyped it up on his show. (maybe for ratings?)

It was obviously for the ratings, he probably got 5 million viewers on a Saturday night.

I agree. Don't stir up the hornet's nest.
Let's give them a day or two for this disappointment to sink in.

If you're going to post on Huck forums, register tonight, but don't start posting for a week or two. And start off by posting about other things other than Ron Paul so you don't look like a troll.

Agree.

The Huck people Ive met are all very nice and honorable... I like Mike too.. Just didnt like his fraternizing with the CFR

I agree that while being well intentioned, it would be misguided to go over there right now looking for converts. I saw a couple of people even complaining about other candidates releasing statements so early and trying to pander for their support.

On the downside, I haven't seen anyone post about RP as a second choice yet. :(

We're almost certainly not going to win over the hardcore, forum-going Huckabee supporters. They know and support his whole ideology too well. The room for growth is in the broad swath of pro-life evangelicals who had been leaning towards Huckabee and dont really have anyone else.
