Huck up big in Virginia

Yep, and I'm here watching the results come in. It looks like a lot of people did take the advice though, counter even to what HQ said to do. Ron was polling into this around or over 8%. He's going to come out around 4%. Thank you that 4% who possibly edged us towards a brokered convention.

Yes, Thank You.

I was reading somewhere that McCain would close Guantanamo and give the detainees some rights they currently don't have. So he's big on interventionism, but he's certainly not Mitt "Double Guantanamo" Romney. Still, it's McCain's liberal economic and domestic policies that worry me the most.

I was at least hoping to vote for a Rep in Nov that was going to destroy us with foreign entanglements but keep our domestic policies sane ... now it looks like with McCain BOTH will get fudged up quite a bit, or with a Dem the foreign mess might be lessened but their domestic policies are atrocious.

How in God's name, can RP be doing THAT badly in a three man race?????????
Don't you mean a two man race?

Ron Paul is absolutely non-existent in the media, and most people who probably wouldn't have mind voting for him probably thought he dropped out by now, and some others don't care to vote for someone who they think has no chance. Is it really that hard to understand Ron Paul's low numbers? It seems to me that only the hardcore supporters are voting for him, and the other votes come from people who simply can't stand either McCain or Huckabee.

Those hoping for a "brokered convention" should quit dreaming.

Hey negative nancy. you're free to not post.

The 8000 OTHER votes are what annoy me the most. Romney is OUT. So is everyone else. Maybe they're writing in Jesus and Reagan.

I doubt we have as many delegates as you say, and once John McCain gets 1191 it would have been for naught to wait that long to become unbound anyway. Not to mention that to me it sounds unethetical to nominate Ron Paul when it's clearly not what the Republicans voted for.

I'm curious about you.

I've been telling everyone over and over again that McCain would sweep tonight and that a brokered convention had no chance of occuring. But I was bashed and bashed, and now I have been proven right again. I told everyone that Paul wouldn't win a state on Super Tuesday and people called me a troll. Well, I was right. When I signed up to this forum, I made a promise to uphold and protect the Forum Constitution and to always tell the truth. I just wish others would do the same. Focus on the Congressional elections like Ron Paul is. We can do more damage there.

well, i'm glad you're not a delegate, and i hope our other delegates don't think like you.

I know you SERIOUSLY can't be talking about ethics in politics, right?

Should we get into a discussion about the ethics employed by our Government? Many of the actions taken by our Government and by our political parties aren't just unethical, it is against the law and the Constitution. And in that case, it shouldn't even matter what the people vote for or what is "REPORTED" that they voted for by a media that benefits by having one candidate elected over another.

If 90% of America voted for a return to slavery, should we do so?

well, i'm off for the night.

someone PM me if we get any guest appearances from the MODS tonight.

i'd like to hear an explanation.

Ironically it is this same type of attitude which fulfills these prophecies. It isn't to say we would win, but this thinking perpetuates the same manufactured hopelessness that the Media tries to control the people with.

For every single person with a defeatist attitude; for every person who says "why should I vote for someone who doesn't have a chance of winning", it is those people that if gathered together and actually had focus and solidarity, could actually make a difference in this world.

Instead you throw in the towel because things get hard.

It is amazing how many people gave up after only half of the country had voted.

Why should people vote for someone that may not win?

Because it is that CHOICE that serves as the reminder of what this country was founded on! It is everyone's' RIGHT and OBLIGATION to vote for the person that represents what they believe in.

You think this has to do with winning or losing. But change takes time and even a losing effort can make a statement and can change the outcome of future policy and future elections. This has been proven throughout history.

I don't believe you support Ron Paul or the message of freedom because ANYONE WHO DOES would never give up; they would never discourage others for fighting on.

You think we should support other Congressmen. Yes we should. It is definitely a worthy cause, but that doesn't mean we give up our other goals.

However, knowing how quickly you clearly abandon your convictions, I give it a week or two before you give up on those Congressmen as well. Just wait for a poll to come out saying they can't win... then you'll be back here telling everyone to give up too.

Its Rons only chance, so I want it brokered! Never give up, this is a strange election!!

I would love for Ron to get these votes, but if he cant then its good Huck is over mcCain.

If it happens, we should make the most of it, but I sure wouldn't vote for Huckster to help it along (and nor would anyone here, I'm sure).

I think it was a better shot with many candidates dividing up small pieces of the pie, but Huck and McCain would just make a deal between themselves. Also, Huckster will use all of his delegates to get an anti-freedom stuff into the GOP platform, like what we saw at the last convention (the party platform actually called for a federal prohibition on Internet poker and gaming!). That's why Dobson endorsed him after Super Tuesday.

I hope we'll get as many Paul delegates into the convention as possible. Maybe the sheep will wake up and we'll win the democratic way -- by getting the most votes. Maybe they won't and we'll lay the groundwork for the future with numerous voices for freedom at that convention. Either way, we'll have done our best to fight for freedom and liberty.
