Do you honestly want to win like that?? To undermine the entire political process by basically playing one of the grandest game of 'insider' politics in history.

Are the "people" who voted for mcCain idiots... yes.

Is our campaign to win the GOP primary a failure.. yes.

Would Dr. Paul winning the primary via some kind of insider delegate scam be a complete and total farce at this point given the election results thus far (which definitely aren't going to change) ... yes.

How is following the rules of the election process (a delegate win), considered "inside" politics or a "scam"?

There was a reason the founding fathers DID NOT create a direct democracy. If they wanted to go by the majority rule than they would have never created the delegate process and instead put a direct democracy.


So let me get this straight, if a big evil gov stole trillions of dollars from the people and used it to murder countless number of people overseas yet they controlled all of the media so people thought they were doing a good job, you would say continue electing the gov cause majority of the people want it like that??

So you think there is nothing wrong with scammers stealing huge amounts of people because majority rules (since they believe the scammer)??

As I pointed out before, even if John McCain had the magical 1191 number, Paul still wins at the Convention because we get to do just about anything to reform the party, and even bind John to the resolutions to exit Iraqs, end IRS/Federal Reserve and so on.

As DT so poetically put it, playing by rules is just that... fair.

Between MSM coverage and voter fraud this whole election was an inside job anyway. Anything is fair game.

That's my take on it. Start going to your once a month meetings. Try to become a delegate. Here in FL after attending 3 meetings you get to vote on stuff within the party. That means YOU/WE CAN AFFECT CHANGE, maybe not today; but tomorrow if we're all still here and the World doesn't end; WE will have a voice in this political nightmare we've all been awakened too. Keep attending/infiltrating Till WE WIN!

If a bound delegate votes for a different person, they may get in trouble, but you can't stop them (by stopping them you imply they had no vote).

We need a McCain bound delegate at the convention to stand up and say before the first round "I refuse to place my vote for someone who goes against everything the Conservative Republican Party stands for." People will follow when they see a leader.

I don't believe the delegates can force the nominee to do anything. I also think that our chances of getting enough control of the GOP through our delegates at the national convention to make any major changes to the GOP platform is exceedingly unlikely. If the GOP nominee somehow manages to get elected they can thumb their noses at the GOP and no one can do anything about it. I'd really be interested what my fellow delegates believe it is possible for us to do and why? Not some pipe dream but a measured well thought out, well planned method by which we can accomplish our goals. Also how do we find out who other delegates are so we can coordinate our plan with them? Answers please.

I agree 100% that people will follow if there is a leader. How do you think unions were created? There is always that ONE person that goes against the "norm" much like ron paul has. he stood up and took the lead for the people who felt they did not have a voice. We had the voice all along but it took someone to stand firm and LEAD. The majority of this world are followers, and i believe that if the bound mccain delegates stand up as a few, many will follow suit because they have the cover to express their own personal opinion.

First, learn what the rules are for your state in terms of becoming a delegate and the rules for delegates from your state (many posted on the forum). No one is advocating anything illegal in this thread or in the others on this topic (see http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=122704). What is being encouraged is for us to use the system to its full advantage, and the only way to do that is to be involved by having as many delegates at the national convention as possible. The members of the Republican Party do NOT select the nominee in the primaries and caucuses; the delegates select the nominee at the national convention. There are rules for the process for doing that -- know what they are and use them fully to our advantage. Also, as others have said, the delegates at the national convention can shape things for the party in some powerful ways.

Don't give up on the movement. The real power in selecting the nominee and shaping the playing field is in MN Sep. 1-4, 2008. This starts in your local precinct, county, and state. Get busy!
