HQ Reply: "But come on, do you really believe Stern can keep his conversation civil?"

HQ sucks. I also hate saying that, but wow, they have lost a HUGE interview here and tons of free exposure. I dont think Stern would say anything out of the way and would be respectful. He can do that when the situation calls for it.

I wonder if RP thinks they will spin the interview on Stern. However, if this is the case why does he keep going on Alex Jones' show? No offense to AJ since I listen to his show but if he is really worried about it being spun someone who is just vulgar seems less damaging than somebody that could be spun easily to most people as a loon.

Exactly Stern has praised him. RP has been on hostile shows like Hannity that always have politicians on and are quick to bring up opposing views. Howard has admitted he is against the war on drugs, FCC and the war in Iraq. One guy at our meetup came to us because he heard about Ron Paul on the Howard Stern show.

Besides since he knows RP is the only guy who stood up for him when he had FCC troubles Howard will not only be civil he will kiss a lot of butt. If spreading the message is the key to revolution he definitely should at least call in. The worst thing that could happen is that Howard gets into his sex life, but RP has had a 50 year marriage, so Howard won't be to interested in bringing it up. But I really don't believe the conversation will stray much from the great ideas of RP.

Write HQ back ASAP and demand that he go on, RP has said this is OUR revolution. In your response to HQ maybe link the youtube of Stern praising him.

Besides the whole "active sex life" could be easily, humorously, and yet CIVILLY dealt with by Ron saying things like "Well, Howard, with several children I've obviously had a good sex life. My wife and I are very devoted to each other. We just celebrated our 51st anniversary!"

And if Howard starts to get crude in any way he could interrupt and say: "You know Howard, when you examine women as part of your job as an gynecologist, there's not exactly a lot of appeal to visiting a strip show or pornography ...sex is actually very boring and unappealing if there isn't a strong amount of love and respect involved."

And if he wanted to he could even hit the ball OUT of the park by saying something like: "Well, as a doctor, I do understand that people have problems with their sexuality. But I also know that it can cause severe medical problems as well. SO I feel sorry for people with problems and try to help and counsel them as much as possible towards a healthy sexuality. Sexuality isn't just about having sex, Howard -- you know that."

Oh, and BTW, even though I am *not* a fan of Stern and never listen to him (though I did enjoy his film several years back -- his loyalty to friends and co-workers, as demonstrated in the film, is definitely something he has in common with Ron) -- anyway I think this is a poor decision and a missed opportunity to spread the message to a new audience, one that DOES have solid potential voters in it who otherwise might not think much of Ron.

wow.. source of the OP quote?

I e-mailed the Campaign with their 'Contact Us' thing and asked them about getting Ron on Stern's show. That was their reply.

I have sent multiple emails to HQ about getting RP on Stern. Stern is actually one of the better interviewers out there and plays to the person he has before him. He is very professional actually.

I'm not seeing this on the front of News About the Official Campaign. Anyone else having that problem?

Blimp.

I'm sure the Campaign can negotiate something. "We won't go on his show unless he's civil!"

Ron wants to talk with people in other countries (Chavez, Castro, etc.), but his campaign thinks Howard Stern wouldn't be civil in an interview.
