Why don't we make this march about something more broad, that more people can get on board with. I suggest using ideals such as liberty, freedom, transparency in government, returning to the constitution, rather than specifics. This could help get our numbers as high as possible. We need to unite people for a common goal. We can't unite everyone over a 911 truth movement, we can't unite everyone over some conspiracy theories about who's really running the government, and people from my region won't be uniting against this stupid war anytime soon (I think we must educate them first). And many of them are not going to unite for Ron Paul as they think he's a nut (education once again). Many people will not unite against bush/cheney/halliburton, They aren't going to unite against the current republican party, as they think the repub's are on their side. These are all great things to support if you believe, but I think by backing up and taking a broader stance we might could reach more people???? And then eventually they can form there own opinions on the war, etc. Maybe i am wrong. But sometimes i think we are too well informed to be trying to convert the common sheep, b/c when we tell them the truth it can sound so radical to them. I think broader terms would be better. Speak a language they understand. I support the march 100% either way, just offering my two cents.

Things that work for me when talking politics around here (the South).
1) Gun Control - They want to come take your guns, give examples, new orleans after Katrina.
2) Taxes- they are going up and spending is out of control
3) health care- most people around here understand that socialized health care will suck.
4) Transparency in government- Why is it so hard to find out what's really going on
5) States rights- here in the south many love states rights. Many people actually understand that the Federal government is supposed to be much less powerful than it is, and States should have much more power. I can always get people fired up when i tell them how the Fed Gov. will manipulate the State Gov. by withholding funds.... The funds that came from the people of the state. It wasn't there money to begin with!
6)NAU- this only works on the more educated ones, many people still don't believe there is such thing, but if they do then it is definately a hot button discussion.
7)Don't bash limbaugh, hannity, or any of the other neocons to hard. You will piss off your "conservative" friends and make it harder for them to see the light in the long run.

I hope this post makes sense. What i am saying is less specific themes could lead to a stronger march, and pull from a larger base of people to attend. Lets target the old-school conservatives who maybe have not woken up completely to reality yet, as well as the die hard Ron Paul Repub's, dem, indies, Libertarians or whatever.

Having lived in the deep south for many years I'm inclined to agree with you.
But honestly those points apply to anyone out here in the midwest too.

Wasn't this movement always about the idea, not the man? Ron Paul just happens to be that idea's best representitive right now. This is a march for peace, personal liberty, and the Constitution! We're fighting to preserve and to restore all that the founders fought for; what so many people risked their lives and died for. Didn't America become a nation to escape the big government of England? Yet we have been treading in their footsteps for so long now.

When we march, we have to show them that our hearts are in it, and that this isn't just some excuse to start a riot in the name of Ron Paul. We want this country to be great again, and to respected, not feared, by the world.

This is the message we need to send out to people. No conspiracies, just raw passion for an ideal that the world needs to be ready for.

We have to also go up against the obstacles to those ideals, which often just happen to be conspiracies. E.g., read Jefferson, he flat out complained about the bankers trying to gain control of the country from its founding by starting a central bank. Early attempts at controlling the country (from 1776) by Weishaupts' American circle also had to be faced down and scuttled, in order for freedom to blossom.

There is organized opposition to peace, personal liberty and the Constitution, by entities financially and corporately committed to war, total surveillance, and fascistic rule. That enemy must be openly confronted, past, present and future, or the movement cannot succeed. EVERY issue of widespread concern to this movement is ON message for a FREEDOM march.

Think big and broad! It's not just about politics. Many things in our society convey freedom. Bring art, bring music, bring all forms of medium that can establish a universal connection of ideas and pursuits of knowledge!

Internet, word-of-mouth, and flyers at big events (handing out and windshielding) are the cheapest methods to help spread the message to as many as possible.

Once a date is set, be sure and ask the LP and Constitution Party's to attend and spread the word. This is not just a GOP-reform or Ron Paul march, it is about the message which they also share for the most part. In the future if they set up such events we should be open-minded towards them as well.

Of course trying to get MSM involved is also needed, but we know how they spin things. But that should not be a blocking factor.

i rcd a survey about the nau in the mail! it was from the conservative caucus in va, chairman howard phillips. i was surpised and pleased to see this publicity.

Taxes AND transparency in Government. 2 non divisive everyone should agree with topics

I agree. Every Ron Paul supporter needs to know these conspiracies are very real. Collectivists gravitate toward organizations and control them - watch the Freedom Force International video.

Our march should be about the most important issues. Wars in Iraq, Afhganistan, the so called War on Drugs, the War against Freedom of the Patriot Act, and the War on Health Freedom called the FDA. And of course the thievery of the unFederal Reserve.

The upcoming showing of Winter Soldier next week by Iraq Veterans against the War should be supported and could be a good place to find supporters for our march. Everyone should help publicize their event.

Add our band on MySpace. We support Ron Paul and peace.
