Race is an oppressive factor in every facet of our national life, it's part of the American landscape. From the Jena 6 to Don Imus to Trent Lott and so on and so forth ad infinitum, every public figure has to constantly walk on egg shells knowing that even the most innocuous and innocent comment could ruin their career or presidential aspirations.
Ron Paul is
not a
racist. However, his enemies in the MSM are certainly going to accuse him of being one. They did it to Pat Buchanan when they pulled out the "N" bomb and branded him a "Nazi." Ridiculous but it worked.
How do we prevent this from happening to Ron Paul? I honestly don't know. Politics is a ruthless, dirty business and the power-brokers, the king-makers, the string-pullers in the MSM will stop at nothing to acheive their objectives. They
will pull out the race card, they
will drop the Nazi bomb, they
will use every dirty trick in the book. Throw enough mud and some of it will stick.
I really don't know what to make of this latest flap with the Hollywood/Jerry Springer 'Nazi' and LGF. The guy is a pariah among legitimate White Nationalists. He's a full-fledged, bona-fide nut. He represents no one but himself and a hand full of fellow nut-jobs. Ignore him completely, give him the ol' 10th Avenue freeze-out. Like an internet troll he thrives on attention, don't give it to him.
Don Black on the other hand represents a legitimate and rapidly growing segment of an increasingly alienated and disaffected white America. There isn't a great deal of difference between a White Nationalist and an old-fashioned palaeo-conservative Republican. Like any other ethnic group in balkanized America, people of european descent have the right to further there own interests. There is nothing hateful, 'supremacist,' racist or extreme in wanting America to remain a first-world, English speaking country with a Christian/Western European culture. Dr. Paul's race-blind, neutral position appeals to this segment of the population. It would be a mistake to intentionally alienate them by pandering to minority groups who may not be inclined to vote for Paul anyway.
I came across the following comment, who knows how many people feel exactly the same way, millions perhaps.
A politician that doesn't pander to political correctness? Wow, how refreshing. I suppose that will be the FEC's next move -- All campaigns must screen each and every donor to make sure that their believes match those of the government.
A lot easier to do for the Romneys of the world who can 'loan' their campaign millions or the the clinton/obama/giulliani/mccain camps who receive the bulk of their money from corporate donors. Hmm wonder who we want as president -- someone who receives money from people who are excited about their candidate and his message or someone who will kowtow to their corporate masters. Not saying I'm voting for the Ron Paul, but I'm leaning that way and this is just one more reason to vote for him.
