It's crazy how much social norms can change in just 54 years. I think I was born about 54 years too late. ;)

Opinions?

I think they still sell these, but you have to import them from Russia.

=/

Good thread, BTW. This will probably be epic.

(and I have two of the first-page spots!)

Good advice peppered in there for both sexes on how to behave towards each other, mixed in with a lot of useless B.S.

I like the one that says, "Never complain if he comes home late or even stays out all night." haha - license to cheat!

They already countered you...

"Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness."

I'm sure many a woman in 1955 bought that line. Especially the wives of traveling salesmen. ;)

Bruno, do you realize that your gleeful antics over what you took as the "license to cheat" is, in the eyes of some readers/lurkers, akin to shouting with a bullhorn, "hey, I don't respect contracts and will break them if I want to neener neener" ???

Makes you appear to be a slimy sort that people shouldn't do business with.

Remember ladies, his topics of discussion are a lot more important than yours, and you have no right to question him.

My utmost apologies and another example of how I hastily write a comment and fail to put a saracasm smiley and my comment was misunderstood for "gleeful antics". :o:( I did that once before and Conza ripped me a new one undeservedly. If that comment was made in person, there would have not been a misunderstanding.

By my comments I meant that the men ruled the roost in 1955 and by putting women in a position of subservience, they were allowed to cheat and beat with impunity. If you knew me personally (wish you did! :) you would know that I am far from a slimey sort, have never even been referred to as such, and have the utmost repsect for women personally and professionally, most of all my wife. I am well respected as a good friend by both men and women, and have often had women say they can relate to me and talk to me more as a friend than any other guy they met. Read the last four thousand emails from me and you will see that I have never disrepected women.

Any person who breaks a written or oral agreement of faithfulness to each other, male or female, is in the wrong.

For the record, I do apologize to you for my lack of making it aware what my true intentions where with those comments lost is mistranslation, and to any other members/lurkers who may have felt the same way.

Hope this helps set the record straight. :)

I don't think the advice on there is completely horrible. No where on there does it say Women shouldn't be treated with respect and honor and dignity. Haven't you ever heard the phrase "what goes around comes around." If you treat your man with respect and honor, he will return the feeling. That's all there is to it. Except the one that says "Don't complain if he stays out all night" is pretty retarded. Wtf is that?!

This was back in a time when people still feared and believed in God.

Its not a coincidence that when women started to bitch and started to go to work is when children started acting like animals. :2cents

I apologize to you, too - because I was in a rush and didn't take a second to think about what you had written and what the intent was; had I done that, I'd have realized you were being sarcastic.

:o

"He...will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness."

If only all men would always obey that rule, perhaps women wouldn't have the right to question us.

If only...

Then both accepted. :)

ah the good old days. once the libertarian faction takes control of this country we will use the invisible hand to bring societal norms back to this point
