If his father had never forced me to ask myself some serious questions, I would undoubtedly be on the Randwagon.

We'll that's fine. I can understand it. Honestly, if his father or someone that campaigned like him ran for president again, I'd probably keep my money to myself because they aren't going to win. I maxed out to Ron and it was a good investment IMO for waking people up and building a movement but also IMO the people willing to hear what he said are already with the movement. Others that are depending on politics before they become one of us for the most part are going to have to witness even worse things first. Older folks had their chance and will have to persuaded the hard way. Younger folks that weren't of voting age are more easy to reach with the internet and it's documented history of what Ron did.

I'm just saying that some of us understand your nit-picking but are of the opinion that winning the presidency isn't going to happen by being Ron Paul or even imitating him.

People want to see a return in their investment/donation. Each person has different views on what those returns would be.

thats why people support and donate to winning candidates to be on the winning team and feel good they invested in a winner.

a lot of you guys got pissed when it seemed that ron was no longer in it to win it and felt cheated of money.

Yeah, probably, unless he says or does something way over the line.

Don't forget all the anecdotal evidence we have on top of what jurgs01 provided.

I've had the pleasure of asking the Pauls their opinions on it at Dr. Ron Paul's house and if he isn't a "sleeper agent", he at least has his entire family including Ron thinking he is.

Ron, whom you seem to like and trust, said Rand was 99% the same on policy. He said people are trying to drive a wedge in between him and Rand.

There were Rand's college news letters.

There is the near perfect voting record, flawed only by his Iranian sanctions votes.

What kind of proof do you want? Because it really seems like you just want him to SOUND like his father. Doesn't seem like anything else will satisfy you.

Wait, you asked Ron personally at his home? OK, that does carry a bit more weight than Ron saying it publicly to avoid creating conflict with his son. Has anyone else had similar conversations with Ron?

Unless something changes, I'm not donating,

For one, times are tough and my budget doesn't allow it right now.

For another: I think I know what Rand is doing. He's playing a game by putting on a hard candy shell of centrist/GOP talking points and hiding his true libertarian (possibly even An-Cap) gooey middle.

That's fine, it's playing the game to win votes. He's calculated that there are more votes in the centrist camp than the libertarian camp. And I hope that he can do some good with that strategy.

But it's a secret strategy. It's something we can't know for sure. Instead of having a creamy libertarian middle, he might just be centrist/GOP hard candy all the way through.

But again, since he's playing to "the middle", he should also be looking for money from that group and not be counting on getting money from those who he's consciously trying to separate himself.
