Given all the crap that happened to us this year, how about we just go completely outside the box:

Run Ron Paul against Rick Perry for governor of Texas and have Governor Paul secede. Then we'll have a President Paul and we can all move to Texas and enjoy liberty.

He's earned his retirement. Paul didn't do too well in the Texas Primary, and it would take more than the Governor to secede.

Not to say he would win, but the primary is different, so late in the process it is more a choice 'between those who can win' and all had been told forever only Mitt could. How did Ron's vote compare to Perry's? Because that is who he would be running against.

But I don't at all think this is going to happen, I'm just addressing the apples and oranges nature of a late presidential primary and a governorship race between different candidates.

We'll see, but an intact US will not allow it. You want to see troops come home from the middle east fast? Watch either of those states try to leave.
