Everybody survives the heat in the summer. It is the tourist season.

There are plenty of nice large marble buildings nearby that have air conditioning. All the smithsonian museums are right there as well union station, library of congress, the archives with the constitution and declaration of independence.

You never know, sometimes we get a cool spell and the weather might be good.

Coming from Tucson, it will be a nice respite from the REAL heat!

Wear a hat. Stay hydrated. Remember Vietnam and Iraq and be glad nobody will be shooting at you. Hopefully.

Yes...I'm a Phoenecian And no....I didn't get down to Tuscon for the march. I was out of state at that time

does your meetup group have any travel plans to get to DC yet? I am trying to organize some sort of mass caravan there. Ed with the meetup group here has contacted me and I responded....hopefully I will hear from him soon. If you have any suggestions or want to help...PM me.

As far as heat goes....I'm sorry, I have to laugh at the whole heat exhaustion thing. I'll be coming from Phoenix, AZ It will be monsoon season here...which means 115 degree weather mixed with nasty humidity. DC shouldn't be a prob for phoenecians, lol.

Take lots of water to the march and be sure to wear light colored clothing that breathes.

Anyway, planning for potential weather is always wise. A simple wet bandana is good, the ones with gel in them are better. People who want to dress in heavy clothes might be able to rig up something like these personal cooling vests...

...and while these USB/battery operated duds may be a bit on the geeky side...
