Hope is nearly lost for me

RP's always talked about holding his congressional seat in case this president thing didn't work out. There is still many months to go for the mccain machine to derail.

Trust me it's not 100% over. It's just getting more interesting.

can someone tell me whether ruling out a third party run means he has ruled out an independent run? is third party and independent one and the same?

The longer Ron Paul stays in the race the more people will rally around him.

When McCain looses to Clinton/Obama in the general elections, the Republican Party will be leaderless.

Who then will be there to fill the vacuum left by the Republicans abandonment of Conservative principles?

Ron Paul.

What would it say about his leadership if he abandons the race now?

That he is a quitter.

No, Ron Paul is correct in staying in the race and trying to win as many delegates as possible, then taking them to the Convention and trying to have as big an impact there as possible.

Which will give him as big a role in leading the Constitutionalists back into power in the Republican Party as possible.

I like your plan of infiltrating, but I disagree with your plan of quitting.

Ron Paul is 72 years old. I don't think he has many more elections in him. So I really doubt it matters if he is labeled a quitter. Though I've never seen anyone label someone a quitter for bowing out when they were clearly losing.

Constitutionalists are not going to get back into power anytime soon. We have way too much work to do. Too many people on this forum think that these problems can be fixed overnight. They can't. A president Ron Paul would have sped up the process but most of these problems probably wouldn't have been fixed even then until well after he was out of office.

Ron Paul did a fine job of speeding the movement forward but I highly doubt he will ever run for president again. He's just too old to be running around the country like this. And chances are that the republicans have hurt themselves so badly this past decade that the democrats will be in office for at least 8 years. That means by the time the republicans have a chance again Ron Paul will be at least 80 years old. He's not going to be the leader of anything at 80 years old. People don't like electing people who could croak any day now.

It would be best to try to get as many Ron Paul republicans as we can into congress and hopefully in 8 years we will have a young Ron Paul republican ready to run for the white house.

A Third Party Candidate has 0% chance of winning, especially with a small bank like Ron has...But to bring your spirits up, look at how McCain is getting dominated in Kansas atm (By Huckabee but still :/ )

McCain is going down, and there will be a brokered convention, so canvas, vote, donate, smear, go all out :]

While your goal is good your pessimism isn't. No this won't happen over night. I doubt Ron Paul will seek another Presidential election. But he should not drop out of this one as you want him to do.

The longer he runs the more support he gains. There are still a majority of Americans who do not know who he is. I know, I was cavassing today, most people hadn't heard of him. So whatever exposure he can get by staying in the race and by playing a role in the Republican convention will only increase his name recognition, and thereby increase the number of people who know there is still a place for Conservatives in the Republican party.

So again, please stop saying Ron Paul should drop out. He's already said he won't. If you continue to push this you are sounding like a troll and not a supporter.

Never Give Up

IF your getting upset and thinking it is a loss then get off your computer and go do something positive. Like go out and recruit someone for Ron Paul. It is never over. Look what we have done thus far!!!

If you need a real boost go rent a movie called "The Crossing" Look what happen to Washington? It will give you a boost to get out and fight for your freedom.... I am a die hard I am in this to the end...
