Has anyone else watched this:

?

Christopher Hitchens and his brother debate some things.

I have to say: although I agree always with C. Hitchens on religion, on Iraq, his brother Peter (a very firm Christian) is correct on Iraq as a mistake.

(I've always been shocked, as is Bill Maher, that Christopher Hitchens is so correct on religion but manages to be so horrible on neo-conservativism.)

What

you

think?

note: I put this in Foreign policy because the first 30 minutes are on Iraq; religion etc is also discovered.

C. Hitchens seems kind of a knee jerk in terms of politics. He used to be a Communist, then switched to Neo conservativism. He seems drawn to extreme positions, very irrational (ironically) in their movements.

It's fucking annoying. He's great on theism.

The reason he is for the war because of his stance on religion. He sees all the terrorists as "islamic-religious" fanatics. I don't think he's truly Neo-Conservative, but he's Pro-War because it's against a religious sect in the world.

Yeah, but he's supporting a religious (JESUS FREAK) guy in his war against Muslims. It doesn't make sense. There's some irrational variable in this.

Hitchens has nothing valuable to offer. I haven't seen any of his work to be intellectually simulating. Plus his full on full support for the Iraq war doesn't help.

He still believes that Al-Qeada had connections with Saddam. Still believes we needed to go to Iraq to "confirm" that Saddam didn't have WMD. No remorse for the 1 million killed, or for the complete destruction of Iraq.

How do i say this....uh.....the guy is a douche bag.

he claims that he forsake the Left-Wing because they were too easy on Islam (i think he has a point), but now he has just become a hyper-interventionist. Its odd that someone who supposedly admires T. Jefferson enough to write a biography about him still supports the neo-cons
