The following image is from a day recently where Rand supporters kayaked in a park in Lexington.

That second picture from the top in the first post is in Richmond, KY in front of the court house I believe. I can tell by the steeple of First Christian church in the background and the buildings. Did you slip that one in by accident or does pikeville's down town look exactly like Richmond's?

oh man these pics are awesome and the dude in the first pic is the quintessential hillbilly. :D

1.) Awesome pictures
2.) Please explain Hillbilly Days - the name alone sounds like it is a good time
It is an excuse to gorge yourself on carny food, buy things, see people. hit on girls. Like a mini chaotic state fair. Celebrate local culture etc. But for the most part EAT. See also Chicken Festival, Court Days, Highland Games, Thunder. Every county just about has a similar "Fill in the blank" Days or festival.

In Kentucky we also have "Court Days." Anytime you can hit one of those events is awesome.

The basic protest sign was epic!

Exactly what Random said. They have been predicting around 100,000 people for this year (which I find difficult to believe), but I can definitely attest to the fact that Pikeville is FILLED with people at the moment. We had an overwhelmingly good response yesterday to our signs and discussions with people. Lots of horn blowing and thumbs-upping from drivers, and nearly every person we spoke too agreed completely and requested a bumper sticker(or two) before walking away. All in all, it was very positive for the campaign.

Nice work, my brethren!!!

It really helps a campaign for the average voter to put a friendly face to that candidate's base

I have been to Hillbilly Days. It is a lot of fun. Especially if you like carny food and bluegrass music. The mountains of Kentucky have been given a bad wrap by the national media, the people in the mountains are the nicest that I have ever met. I know a lot of people from Pike County and every time I have ever been it feels like home away from home. The people in Pikeville truly know what southern hospitality is all about. I wish people in Central Kentucky would learn some of the hospitality that is displayed in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

GAWD! Who are all these hotties for Rand?
:O!!!! I need to start getting politically active!

DAMN!

That chic is HOT!!!!! (assuming she is 21yrs+):)
