Hey! Ron Paul Plans His Own Convention...

Comrade Obama

It sure would be fun if Ron Paul would start refering to Obama as "Comrade Obama". He might even score points with John McCain.

Ron Paul cannot attend the GOP convention unless he endorses McLobbyist

Ron Paul already has the U of M Arena for one day, he should make it all 3!

Jesse Ventura, Jeff Flake, Celebrities, ie: George Carlin, Christopher Walken, , and top endorsing bands would be a great lineup for RP's convention.

Invite all the independent parties (Constitution, Libertarian, Conservative, Liberty, Patriot, We The People, Grass Roots, United We Stand, etc...

Still trying to decide if I want to fly out there...or do a crazy road trip from PA....

I checked airfares, and it looks like it's CHEAPER to fly than drive!

Any way we could get some locals to sponsor a few then-thousands of shelterless Ron Paul folk? As in, find a place for us to crash on the cheap?

Doesn't hurt to ask...:)

Imagine if Ron promised to endorse mccain for a speaking slot
but he did it like this
"because I trust john mccain will reject his views and embrace the philosophy I just described, I endorse his candidacy"

Hmmm.... That gave me an idea.

Ron should extend a public and formal offer to McCain for a speaking slot at the RP Convention.

Of course, he wouldn't accept, but the offer itself would be humiliating to McCain.:p

I wonder if there are any restrictions about pitching tents/parking RVs on people's property in the city...

Curious...since it's on the same date as the GOP Convention, would the delegates who are Ron Paul supporters be able to go to his convention? Or are they required to be at the GOP Convention during that time?

Anyway, I'm strongly thinking about going.

This news about RP's convention is so exciting, it is almost worthy of a money bomb. Can you imagine how pissed off the GOP would be to see RP still able to raise huge amounts of money. With it he could buy another three days, and have the convention for four days like the GOP. My God the news headlines could be awesome!

"Ron Paul's rival convention, twice the audience as the GOP convention"

"Ron Paul still raising millions of dollars, even though he dropped out months ago"

:D

I can, but I don't know if everyone can. They're some fourteen miles apart.

Fourteen miles would make a big statement. Like MSM headlines statement.

It would be a recreation of the French Revolution. When the french people marched from Versailles to Paris for ten miles to protest the harsh economic conditions.

As far as I am concerned, this will be the convention. The GOP's is the rival.

As far as most of us are concerned, Ron Paul's vision of the GOP is the true vision. But our opinion is irrelevant. What matters to the movement is how society at large sees this. Are Joe and Jane Starbucks going to see it the same over their morning half-caff latte?

It is about 8 miles, if that makes it any easier.

Okay, here's the conversation with my daughter (a former Starbucks employee):

Hannibrahm (11:13:52 PM): I don't think it matters
capoccinomix (11:14:03 PM): That's what you'd think?
Hannibrahm (11:14:10 PM): yeah
capoccinomix (11:14:22 PM): What, specifically, doesn't matter?
Hannibrahm (11:14:42 PM): McCain has a lot better chance of beating Obama than Ron Paul does
Hannibrahm (11:14:48 PM): I don't want Obama to win
capoccinomix (11:14:58 PM): Yeah, especially since he will have the nomination...LOL
capoccinomix (11:15:09 PM): But besides the obvious....
Hannibrahm (11:15:17 PM): so why does it matter if more people show up at Ron Paul's thing
Hannibrahm (11:15:18 PM): ?
capoccinomix (11:15:42 PM): It doesn't matter...I'm just wondering what your opinion of Ron Paul would be...
Hannibrahm (11:16:10 PM): that he can get a lot of people at rallies. Or a lot of Ron Paul people will go WAY out of their way to show support
capoccinomix (11:16:21 PM): Okay, that's good

She highlights a good perception problem - the belief that Ron Paul's draw will be his ferocious core and not a middle America uprising.
