If you guessed SWC Hillary or disgraced DGP or Sanders etc, wrong:

Here's what people searched for on Google after Trump triumphed over Cruz

If the Republican and Democratic parties were choices on Tinder, a whole lot people would have been swiping left to look for another option on Tuesday night.

Google searches for the words "Libertarian Party" exploded late Tuesday as Donald Trump won the Indiana GOP presidential primary in a landslide, and prompted his closest opponent, Ted Cruz, to suspend his campaign.

Tuesday night also saw Sen. Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton in Indiana's Democratic primary, while still trailing her significantly in overall delegates nationally.

Lets hope the LP doesn't screw up this opportunity that fell in their lap. They could nominate Johnson, get 5%, get matching funds and be a real party next time.

I'm not so sure about Gary. He's been run before and honestly doesn't have much appeal. If I had my choice it would be McAfee. In the long run I think it might be Petersen, who is an excellent choice WRT platform and adherence to the Constitution. His FB has had the most joins since the drop out. Followed by Johnson. McAfee trended downward.

The Cruz social cons that look at the LP will last all but 5 minutes after they see where they stand on social issues. Others will be turned away by open borders and trade policy.

If they wanted a wall, they would have supported Trump in the first place.

And those socons won't be any happier with Trump's wishy-washy stances on social issues....unless they only care about his opinion over the last 12 months.

They went with Cruz since they felt Trump was either weak or untrustworthy on social issues. What makes you think they would go LP when they are weaker and to the left of Trump on social issues?

About half of the others that hated Cruz and Trump but want border controls would not go LP also.

Anyone interested in non-interventionism, Constitutional rights, and free markets (all themes of the Cruz campaign) would prefer the LP to Trump.

For whatever reason, the news story says "Google searches for the words "Libertarian Party" exploded late Tuesday..."

Maybe it wasn't Cruz supporters searching for LP. Maybe all of Cruz supporters didn't support him for all the reasons you think they did. Who knows?

For whatever reason it happened, I think it's great news.

I think you mean hypocrisy of the Cruz campaign.

Non-Interventionism

Ron Paul: Ted Cruz is NOT a Libertarian and Donald Trump is NOT a Non-Interventionist

But, Cruz with his position of carpet bombing the Middle Eastern countries and his determination to continue the Bush policies of preemptive war and now this position is really reflective of the civil liberties.

Constitutional Rights

Free Markets

“No libertarian”: Ron Paul slams Ted Cruz, says Sanders is more pro-free market

....blah blah blah

I didn't say Cruz was a libertarian.

I'm saying he's better than Trump on these issues, which is indisputable.

Cruz is hawkish on Syria, but no more than Trump, and he opposed the Libya and Iraq Wars which Trump supported.

Cruz voted for the watered down USA Freedom Act reform, but Trump thinks the PATRIOT ACT didn't go far enough.

On economic issues, it's not even close. Cruz, unlike Trump, did not support TARP, the Obama stimulus, or socialized medicine.

Nor has he promised never to touch entitlements, as has Trump.

If Rand was a 10 on the liberty scale, Cruz is a 7 and Trump's a -1.
