Hello Everyone,

I'm running for State Representative in Minnesota in district 66B out of St. Paul. My involvement in supporting the liberty movement began in 2008 when I heard Ron Paul give Giuliani a homework assignment during the South Carolina debate. I immediately locked myself in my room and went on a Youtube marathon in an attempt to figure out exactly what this whole "consistent principles" and "natural rights" thing had to do with a presidential debate. The next day I changed my majors to economics and political science. I found myself challenging my economics professors and began to argue the Keynesian cross' deviations along with multipliers etc. in my econometrics class.

Fast forward four years and I find myself the endorsed candidate out of a house district that borders the Capitol building. The unions are strong and they give a lot of money. My opponent has walked away with every election since 2002. He has done so for the following reasons:

  1. The unions provide significant funding
  2. Lobbyists provide funding
  3. Special interests provide funding
  4. He has not had a competing campaign that has provided a real alternative candidate (not to mention a Liberty candidate!)

It is estimated that I will need somewhere in the neighborhood of about $5,000 to win this campaign. Due to the nature of the liberty movement, we dominate both social media and online media saturation in the area. We have a strong volunteer base of which I have received the avowed dedication of 40 people to help with lit drops, door-knocking, and for support during debates. I have a soft promise of two debates before the election with my opponent. I am seeking the endorsement of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Minnesota along with Minnesotans for Limited Government. I have also signed the RLCMN Liberty Compact:

"I pledge to the citizens of the State of Minnesota and to the American people, that as their elected representative I will work to: restore liberty, not restrict it; shrink government, not expand it; reduce taxes, not raise them; abolish programs, not create them; promote the freedom and independence of citizens, not the interference of government in their lives; and observe the limited, enumerated powers of our Constitution, not ignore them."

Realistically, I believe we can win this election with limited funding. Our first purchases will be for literature and door-hangers to get the word out on the first lit drops. We can get 5,000 pieces of lit for about $500. If I could raise $500 as a solid starting point from this forum and you could help me spread the message of liberty to 5,000 hits throughout the heart of St. Paul, you would be directly responsible for a portion of those reaches. If you cannot contribute financially, I ask for your support by helping me to reach your friends and family through liking my Facebook page and sharing my status once in a while. While I may not live in your State, there are undoubtedly many more like me throughout the country who are putting themselves out there to give a strong liberty-candidate showing in State legislatures who could also use your support.

What do you say, folks? My birthday's on May 5th. Can we do $500 by May 5th?

So you're running as a republican? Is there any sort of primary; any other republicans running against you?

Yes, I'm running as a Republican. There are significant barriers to entry in this state to run as a third party candidate. Right now I have the backing of all known prominent Republican activists in the district. We were just re-districted to our advantage so I'm not fully aware of the entire district. I was endorsed at the BPOU and our state party prohibits receiving state party benefits (such as donation lists or using phone banks etc.) if you run against the endorsement. We're not going to have a contest. This is strictly to use in a campaign against a DFL (democrat) candidate.

Hello everyone.
So, I've known Ben for something like 19 years now. He's been a conservative since even before I knew a single thing about politics. By the time 2007 rolled around we were both in to politics. I was pretty far left, he was still conservative. We debated politics a lot and, needless to say, he converted me. Because of him I've donated to Ron Paul multiple times, Rand Paul multiple times, B.J. Lawson, John Dennis, Glen Bradley, Kurt Bills, I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting others, but you guys get the point.

So, I urge you to donate on May 5th.
