My parents don't want to caucus for Ron Paul because they don't think he can win (they are still voting for him in the primaries), and they want to take a trip to Seattle because they haven't gotten out in a few months (what's a week, after months anyway). My mom also says she is afraid of telling her opinion in an open environment. We need them for delegates, and I swear if they don't go and we lose by a single vote, I don't know how I'd be able to forgive them.

I just want a few people to have a plea to her, and I'll print 'em off and give 'em to her (my dad will go if she does). Her name is Penni (yes, with an I). Please, I need something, I've tried everything I can, and I need someone who isn't her child to do this.

They better go. I have been spending my free time volunteering on this phone bank to get out voters.

Please go!!!

Nate,

They have to go. Here's why:

  1. Roughly one half of the delegates for WA state are decided at the caucuses.
  2. Every precinct we win for Ron Paul adds up to a potential county win.
  3. It's very easy to do (see http://ronpaulwa.com/packet.pdf )
  4. We owe it to ourselves, our families, and our country to do everything we possibly can to help get Ron Paul elected.
  5. There is a high probability that the national convention will be a brokered convention.
  6. Bottom line, re-read #4 above.

Remember, your caucus location is different from the location listed on your voter registration card. Go to http://kcgop.org/caucus_locator.html to find your caucus location.

Please, Penni. We need all Ron Paul supporters to be at both the caucus and the primary. If you have any other questions, please call me. I've given Nate my phone number. I am a precinct leader, so I can get your questions answered.

Update: My dad has said he'd think about convincing my mom to go, I think that is as far as I'm gonna get without having a big fight. It is possible that only my dad will run for delegate, but that's an improvement from 0, and if no one else shows up (highly possible, I've detected high levels of apathy in canvassing), then my mom will probably do it too.

They haven't signed up on the website for the reason of not wanting to get called, so the calls I don't think are gonna get to them.

The point is a lot of us are working our asses off. It doesn't take too much effort to go out and caucus for a couple hours.

Your parents are letting the MEDIA manipulate them into believing who will win and who will lose.

If they sit on their asses, they're also LETTING the media pick who our choices for president will be.

They perfectly well know that, they just seem to think that they can do nothing about it. It makes no sense to me.

I like the way this is shaping up for us, Nate.

Tell them what I've told a lot of my friends and neighbors that I'm dragging with me: "you will feel good about what you are doing and you will feel good knowing that you stood up and did the right thing. you'll feel good about yourself (if the person needs a little Dr. Phil"

Or, you can tell them what I've also used to sway certain friends: "this is your chance to kick (fill-in-the-blank) square in the balls - symbolically"

Or, for guilts sake, "you can lead a horse to water...."

It's not so much about Ron Paul as it is about voting to protect our rights...Please Penni, I live in a democratic state...as I posted my signs I was yelled at and mocked...for what? for that 1 extra vote for liberty..

if my parents are going, EVERYONES parents have to go

both of my parents voted for bush twice :D
