Grassroots TV ads for Iowa - It's on

Let's not forget that evangelicals will swing the election in Iowa. They were strong enough to beat the Romney money machine and thrust Huckabee into a win.

Is this still in the works... or, has it been abandoned?
Iowa is getting pretty close.

So... is this thread dead or what?

If so, I apologize for not posting in this this thread earlier.

Anyway, after skimming through the entire thread, I noticed something peculiar. We're talking about kick ass ads, and yet we're not talking about Rand Paul's ads.

I think we should look at Rand's best ads and then make Ron ads similar to them. Don't copy them exactly, but take note of the voice, the script, the images, and use them to create a similar type of ad.

After re-watching all of Rand's ads, I think the following would work pretty well for Iowa:

^ This one seems to meet the criteria being floated around in the thread. It has original scenes, it has a nice voice-over, and it connects the candidate to Iowa values. With this ad, it almost sounds like you only need to change a couple of words to change it from a Kentucky Senate ad to an Iowa Presidential ad. Again, I'm not saying that should be done; only that this is a great ad to base ours on.

^ I like this ad because it's all about family. We don't need a family member doing a voice-over--that would be nice--but I'd think an ad showing footage of Ron's huge family and then saying that Ron fights for his family and America's families would be good for Iowa. Then of course the final footage would be showing Ron and Rand in that slow-mo happy fashion as you hear "I'm Ron Paul and I approve this message."

^ If we want an attack ad, this is a solid ad to model. It has a voice actor, original images that are made on a computer, and does not require much from Ron Paul. To modify it for Ron Paul, instead of showing the different companies like AIG and GM, I'd replace them with images of the issues they claim to support. I'd replace the capitol building with images of the other candidates huddled in a group. The voice would then say something like, "The other candidates are extending their grasps. Trying to fool voters that they support Tea Party ideals... [as it shows for example Mitt grasping for the anti-Obamacare issue] ... Where was MBachmann? Busy voting for farm subsidies... Where was MittR? Signing into law the state version of Obamacare... With candidates like this in the White House, where will the fiscal insanity end? Ron Paul will... blah blah basically what it says about Rand"

^ If you want a really simple ad, you can do something like this where it's pretty much talking about the issues Ron supports as it displays them in a big font.

So, once more, I don't think we should try to copy the Rand ads, but we should study them carefully, as they helped to instantly turn a never-politician into a landslide-politician.

With seeing the new official Ron Paul ad, are you thinking that you might be working either for the official campaign or the Super PAC?

I think the original idea for this particular ad was that the campaign would not, but for this ad, be on tv in Iowa. And then we see the official campaign
with a very good official ad, which might make one think that the campaign's tv team is good at doing what they do.

Slightly related to what I was saying a few weeks ago, it seems that the campaign is doing a great job at broad message. Perhaps narrowly tailored ads, microtargeting, is a distinctive area where the campaign might not be focusing. Using the they do / we do understanding of things. They (the official campaign) does broad message ads, we (grassroots) do narrowly tailored, microtargeted ads.

Nothing's happening before the Straw Poll. We're gearing up for after that.

the campaign proved its worth with the first tv ad so i think most ppl are less concerned about needing the grassroots to make them since the official ones look like they will be pretty nice
