Grassroots Press Releases -- IMPORTANT

In my many months on this forum, I've NEVER seen any
mention of professionally distributed press releases!!!!!!

Time and time again, I read about Paul supporters bitching
about the campaign not sending out press releases. And
when I did mention profession distribution, I get NO response.

We say that we are 'dominating the internet' with RP but in
all actuallity, we've bairly scratched the surface.

There are thousands upon thousands of websites that
would love to feature a story on Dr. Paul but they don't
know who he is.

Previously, a few of us wrote press releases to distribute
and I created a chip-in for it, but no-one chipped in.

So, my question to everyone is, "Do we really want to dominate
the internet with Ron Paul?" If so, then we want paid distribution
of press and news releases, which WILL overflow into the
off-line media.

Hunter

p.s. Don't tell me that submitting releases to PRWeb (and
other free services) is the same. I've done it and it's not!

p.p.s. The research that I've done that I mentioned in the past
was $415 for a release to go out to 60,000 journalists and writers
in addition to all the MSM. That's a hell of a deal if you ask me.
It should at least be tested!

Edited to add chipin... as requested:

I'm a little confused as I have ZERO experience in advertising, marketing, or distribution.

Could you perhaps supply a few examples of professional distribution of press releases?

Ok, I looked at it! Sounds like a terrific idea that, I agree, should at least be tested. My concern is getting things off the 'net and on to other media. I am so broke, I can hardly pay attention but I'd chip in what little I could scrape up if you do this.

The official campaign releases press releases all the time. No one airs or prints them.
I think you are trying to say something else and I probably missed the point lol

I have expereince making press releases. I am in a writers for RP meetup and we have done some. I have a list of thousands of media contacts.

I know where to search to see when others paid for press releases. Like the official campaign, the blimp people etc. They do them. Few people cover it....

I have not paid the $400 for them each pop. Did you? Was it worth it?

I previous created the chipin and I've made a great
contact at www.marketwire.com. I've talked to him,
asked dozens of questions and did my research.

I'll get that chipin up again so that we can at least
test this.

Official Press Releases . . .good point.

It might have saved the media from asking the same darn questions over and over again.

I think they 'release them' as in 'puts them out there so others can
find them' but I don't think they pay professional services to
distribute them.

And if they do, then that simply means that we should change the
strategy a bit... Instead of submitting 'press releases' about Dr. Paul
we could be submitting 'NEWS releases' about issues inwhich we
offer NEWS about all the candidates! Of course Dr. Paul would shine.

There's a big difference between a 'news release' and a 'press release'.

Chipin is on a pretty unreliable server apparently. This happens a lot. Just keep trying. :)

A lot of people peruse the news aggregators, most of these so called press releases end up on "press release" sites. They usually don't get picked up as credible sources unless issued by the official source.

I'll chippin. msm will no doubt ignore anything. but i believe in local small town media. so fifty bucks from me.
and im still clicking "try again" lol
