Part of what makes his comment so offensive is that RP was suggesting trading with the whole region, then McCain insinuates that that means trading with al Qaeda, who are just a very small fraction of the country.

Imagine South Africa saying that they refuse to trade with the US because of the KKK. It's absurd AND racist.

Get real, that's not "the south for you." I come from a small, small town and lived on a farm, and you rarely heard bullshit like what McCain said around there. I'm at UNC now and you most certainly won't hear it here either.
