Got any movie recommendations?

The Gods Must be Crazy

Almost any mafia movie.
I will probably watch that tomorrow.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was an amazing movie. Easily top ten.

A good mafia movie not many have seen is Bugsy.

That and, Kill the Irishman.

Iceman
is out but I'll have to wait a bit to see it. It should be a great movie.

just saw a video version of Maxwell's 2013 flic COPPERHEAD. the 2008 film
with the same title is about the snakes, not the novel. i fell in love with
the scenery and the cinematic pace of Maxwell's magnus opus. its less
stilted than Redford's CONSPIRATOR that was filmed in Savannah GA, as
a film it has me falling in love with the historic buildings that were taken
to that lush area of New Brunswick. Angus Macfadyen has the most difficult
role in the whole film and he has an edge like Nathaniel Hawthorne's better
characters, otherwise we cannot see into the character's soul. The rest of
the cast is brilliantly 2oth Century. See it if you can in a theater, the pace
of the rural scenes feels very authentically 1800s. The historic houses of
the town were owned by Loyalists at one point. The film does have the period
piece look of NY state very happily all through each frame. See it, ignore
the critics. Its better than Redford's flic, and if MacFadyen's portrayal was
weak willed or too 21st century, we'd all have no true understanding of
the quiet dignity of the hero. Mr. Spielberg had a massively larger budget and
got people to act like they were living in the year 1901 or 1921, even though
Tommy Lee Jones & Sally Fields carried the flic with a late 1800s pride & dignity.
I recommend the flim because the politics is latently there as a backdrop, but it
is not often that a modern soul connects up with how willful all of Hawthorne's
Puritans actually were. today's critics are fools, and Peter Fonda has something
like a quaint cameo like as if he went trekking back in time in tandem with MEATLOAF's
recent glandular OUTER LIMITs character. really do try to see the film for its poetry...

Cloud Atlas

It is the best thing I have seen in years, it has a freedom, romance, action, comedy, mystery themes etc. It is essentially 6 mini stories, set in 6 different setting with 6 different genres to convey each story and acted out with the same set of characters in makeup. All the stories are very interesting even on their own and the acting is just as spectacular.

If you are still looking for that one movie to watch, this should be it.

Many good ones already listed. Here's some:
