GOP Compromise: Which Republicans Voted to Continue Funding Planned Parenthood?

Why does Planned Parenthood receive funding? Even if they weren't providing abortion, how do they constitutionally receive federal funding?

There is no Constitutional justification why Planned Parenthood should receive federal funding. How that organization receives federal funds is because of lobbyists, of course.

I am sure all of the great Republicans shut it down from 2000-2006...

this is total bullshit and i'm disappointed anyone here would fall for this crap. tying abortion or gay marriage or anything else to this fucked up battle is worthless.

this discussion, imo, needs to be about war spending and intervention spending. fuck the social apocalyptic jargon. get real.

How do you know this funded Planned Parenthood?

it's an allusion. the original CR was supposed to involve cuts to planned parenthood. this CR did not have such cuts. therefore, according to the logic of the op, those who voted for this (agreement to keep government open) voted to keep funding planned parenthood. this is a flawed argument because many more democrats voted against it. they did not, as alluded, want to vote for planned parenthood cuts.

I am kind of on the fence on this one because I hate small issues that distract when there are bigger issues to focus on, but on the other hand this is a pretty damn good litmus test to see which Republicans are serious about cutting unnecessary and unconstitutional spending and which are the establishment hacks.

Many of these guys likely also voted to fund more overtly violent policies that led to abortion of lives of hundreds of thousands of fully born children, women and men in Iraq.

At least, these Republicans can be called consistent in their lack of regard towards sanctity of human life.

Aw, come on guys, give the RINOs a break.
You all know that funding Planned Parenthood didn't even enter into their decision process.
They were scared. More scared than I thought they'd be, but scared nonetheless.

I'm happy that my soon-to-be congressman (Steven Palazzo, R-MS 4th District) voted no!

Mine soon-to-be congressman (Goodlatte, R, VA-6) voted yes. I'll try to find someone to challenge him in the primary.
