Trump doesn't have the power to just send money back to the people, but he has proposed to send some of it back if he can get congress to agree to the DOGE dividend, naturally people here attacked him as socialist for suggesting that.

I didn't realize how brilliant the DOGE dividend is until you said this -- with the unconstitutional ending of impoundment of funds by the executive, the President's hands are cuffed in respect to preventing waste. He might be CEO of the government but, without the power to impound Federal funds, he can't cut funding to bad departments, stop fraud or waste. A dividend goes around this unconstitutional restriction by allowing Congress to vote to basically "self-impound" those funds in the form of a kickback. Brilliant...
