A shocking new report looking at online advertising shows that there has been a huge increase in the number of internet users making use of ad blocking tools. The report describes ad blocking as having gone mainstream, but it also suggests that the loss of ad revenue threatens the life of many websites.

Pagefair worked with Adobe putting together the report and found that 4.9 percent of internet users make use of ad blockers, including more than a quarter (27.6 percent) of those in the US.

The figures show that ad blocking is more prevalent among younger web users, with 41 percent of those aged between 18 and 29 employing some form of ad avoidance utility. What is particularly interesting is that from 2013 to 2014, there was a 69 percent increase in the use of ad blockers and this has been fueled at least in part by Google's Chrome browser which saw a huge 96 percent increase in ad blocking.

I dont buy it. I think many people are waking up to the Privacy Invasive nature of Online Advertising. Finally. Thanks to the Snowden revelations, people are becoming aware that unlimited Surveillance is nothing short of the foundation of Genocide. Nothing to Hide, unless youre a Jew in Nazi Germany. Who will be the New Jews? That group over there? Maybe. That guy who did noting wrong in the first place? Getting warmer. You? Me? Far more likely. Surveillance and Censorship go hand in hand to crush dissent before it happens. And Privacy is nothing about hiding doing something wrong, it is about Difference of Opinion. We all have our own opinions. Some of those opinions will be opposed so strongly that our lives could be in danger. We arent talking Opinions on Peanut Butter vs Chocolate, we're talking the big ones, the ones that people fight and die over, repeatedly. Wrong religion? Matter of opinion that cost many people their lives. Dont trust your Govt? Concentration Camp just for you buddy. Think modern banking has become a form of legalized theft? They must be silenced. That is how a Tyrannical Govt, or a Govt that is well on its way to becoming Tyrannical will look at things, and they get this information by validating excuses that eliminate your Privacy. They will act like the Privacy Protections afforded by the 4th Amendment were created to protect Criminals from Justice.

Ending the lives of groups of people, full on Genocide could easily be considered an Extreme point of view. Well, it is, but no more than the Deaths of the Jews during Nazi Germany was also as extreme as any perspective could possibly get. This Surveillance Society will reach a state of Extreme Surveillance by incrementalization. Its one thing to say I need your address to mail this to you. Its entirely another to demand to put a camera and microphone in someones house to make sure people do not even talk about or think about what Govt says you shouldnt. And we get from one to the other by Steps. Wanting ones mailing address to mail something doesnt even register as an Invasion of Privacy. The first step comes with Unique Identifiers. Trust me, they dont give a shit about your name. The number they assign to you is what is valuable to them. Next, more information will be expected. Then more information. More and more information until they know you better than you know yourself.

Targetted Advertising and Privacy go hand in hand. Some people dont give a shit. Some people are not technically savvy enough to block various forms of tracking. Some are savvy enough and block some forms of tracking. Businesses claim that Targetted Advertising is not harmful because 'they show you products you will be more likely to buy'. What we see as a result is just the Ads, what we dont see is the rest of the data that is shared about you behind the scenes. Businesses want to make money. Fine. But we are getting into the era where people arent spending cuz they dont have any money to spend, so money has to be 'squeezed' out of people. That is to say they need a way to validate reasons for taking more money from you, and this can be done in part by all that data that is collected and shared. The simplest form of this that I can think of is your Credit Score. Good credit is a reward for surrendering your privacy and paying bills on time because youre less of a risk to the company. But thats not where Banks make their most money. They profit more from loaning money to people that are considered a higher risk. Thus, to take the most money from someone, they need to be able to repay loans at high interest rates and have some validating information when they call someone a higher risk. They basically will profit by saying everyone is a higher risk. Again, it is one of the most simple forms of the consequences of Data Slavery.

From the simplest form of price manipulation to the most complex form of it, the same methods are applied, just to more and more data. Have Hemmoroids? Embarassing to say the least. But it is an excuse to charge more for Insurance. Just as people with bad credit pay higher interest rates, being a medical risk is a method of validating a decision to charge you more for Insurance. It is only one way that the person at the end is harmed. Some of the reasons are valid, but many are not and just a form of extortion. Eating a Hamburger or Bacon is not illegal. But remember, Difference of Opinion. Your Health Insurance Company will disagree with you that eating a Hamburger or Bacon is just fine. Since their goal is to make money, they now have a validating argument to jack up your rates. Always remember that Health Insurance is NOT Health Care. If you were a mechanic and had to change two flat tires in one day, would you try to charge both of your customers different rates based on what you knew about them, even if the same effort was made on your part to fix the flat tire? Of course not! The person getting charged more would be upset. Insurance companies are the exact opposite. If you live on a dirt road, you'd have to pay them more for Flat Tire Insurance than the guy that lives on a paved road. Its an excuse to jack up rates. So sure, the person that lives on a dirt road is going to be more likely to get a flat tire than a guy that drives mostly on paved roads, but it isnt a valid reason to charge a person more just because the Flat Tire Insurance Company doesnt want to pay. So smokers do get more lung cancer than non smokers, but non smokers get lung cancer too. Treatment for Lung Cancer is no different than a mechanic charging more changing a flat tire based on the way those people drive. It is an excuse. An excuse to take more money based on a Difference of Opinion because they dont want to pay AT ALL. And it is enabled by the Data they have access to. Data they can acquire by invading your privacy.

Insurance Companies have a lot of money and have a tremendous level of influence over Govt. The result is that Laws are passed that protect the business model of Privacy Invasion. These Laws result from a Difference of Opinion that harms the people at the bottom in order to benefit those who take the money. And it will continue to escalate. It will escalate until the people realize that they are really paying for nothing. Thats when Govt validates its Invasion of Privacy. They will want to know who will oppose their decisions. They want to know who they will have a Difference of Opinion with. They will not be willing to listen to the people that cry out and say "Hey! There is something wrong here!" and will ignore the real problem. Govt is a master at shifting blame, and so are the Mega Corporations. They shift Blame to the consumer so that in damn near every case, the people at the bottom are thought of as being at fault for everything. They will be thought of by our Govt as being the cause of the problems that cost these predatory businesses so much money. Govts will shift their perspective of people as being the source of the problem and will never look at themselves. Govts will then pass Anti Privacy Laws that will result in nothing short of keeping the problems in place. Their perspective of the misunderstood problem will result in a Difference of Opinion that will cause many to suffer, possibly even die. Think Difference of Opinion vs Privacy doesnt result in the suffering of people? Try openly worshipping Christianity in a Muslim country. Try openly criticizing the Chinese Govt in China. Try crying for Gay Rights in Russia. Try openly expressing Jewish Faith in Nazi Germany.

So now, in order to protect your life and freedom, you have to go underground! That means the methods of invading your privacy must also go underground. Now they will actively try to find out if you are a Christian, Gay, or Jewish. They will profit from discovering and sharing who has a Difference of Opinion. They will hide behind excuses that turn Advertising into Targetted advertising and jack up your Insurance (not CARE, remember) rates if you do something a Corporation does not approve of. They expect you to comply with Corporate Law and adopt their Opinions so they can squeeze all they possibly can from you. You are the product to be bought and sold. Either by charging you more, or imprisonment for your Opinion, you will be profitable to someone. You will be force fed your Opinions as to make sure you do not communicate your ideas with others and realize the real reasons and consequences of having Zero Privacy. They do not want you to have a Difference of Opinion, so the MSM and every possible source, including your Friends, will become sources of Group Think Psychology where you are expected to adopt the consensus of the Group, even and especially when your Opinion is in direct conflict with their profits.

Advertising isnt just about getting you to buy a Product, but to have an Opinion about that product. Advertising is about a means of replacing your Opinions with Manufactured Opinions. You are expected to not have any Difference of Opinion. Opinions that can cost people their very lives. This hopefully is why people are trying to resist both the Invasions of Privacy and Advertising Pollution, but most do not fully understand how Privacy, Advertising, and Difference of Opinion go hand in hand.

Difference of Opinion is why Privacy must exist.
