Good Media Reporting on Ron Paul?

Can there be a new forum section with the title of this post, for good interviews, like the one I just saw with Glenn Beck? It would help find video's for me, as I'm not that great with the internet - too old I guess :)

Lets keep the momentum going, and positive material inspires more than complaining all the time. I also sent a thank you note to Glenn from his site, never done that to anyone before.

^^^ what does that mean? Did someone else say that, that many times? Sorry, I don't read everything on here, nor do I keep up with the online stuff, but tell everyone I know about him through my small business.

it means I approve your message.

I'm new here as well, but to me it seems like good media reporting often goes in this forum: News About The Official Campaign

It looks to be more of a general news section with a lot of variety in the sources of news, but over all, if its not negative news and posted here, it must be positive news posted there.

I agree. I've actually begun to notice some articles about Ron Paul that have been pretty well-written without resorting to derogatory stuff. I wanted to post this article earlier today:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/18/opinion/main3628574.shtml

A "good media reporting" board might also help shed that false image that Ron Paul supporters are somehow angry or mean in any way.

I also would like to see a section for good media posts. I spend a lot of time looking up articles and videos through Google and that would save me a great deal of time. I also think I might send Glen Beck a thank you message and so should anyone else who really appreciated what he did today. Ron Paul supporters can be your best friends or your worst enemy. It's up to you to decide which.

Discussed en masse on here I'm sure, but it can't be stressed enough.

Please do everyone a service and write thank yous and other supportive letters to those who report fairly and give coverage to the campaign. They are 500x more productive than swarming against the 'bad' reporting, yet the outpouring of goodwill seems to generate a lot less interest at times.

I know it's a very small minority doing this, but acting like a "crazy" supporter (as opposed to an impassioned one) does immeasurable harm; it only takes a few comments that are out of line to ruin a swell of positive messages that may actually sway someone's opinion.

I for one have sent a very nice thank you letter to Glenn Beck as a starter. Do I think that some of the 9/11 and threat portions of the interview were a 'trap'? Maybe, but acting in a paranoid fashion and reacting strongly to every perceived slight or inaccuracy won't garner any support. Far better to make polite mention if I choose to mention it at all.

After all, the entire message of the campaign is one of peace and positive change, right?

The letter that went out to Glenn is below:
I wanted to write to personally thank you for your interview of Dr. Ron Paul last night. It was refreshing to listen to a full hour of thought-provoking questions with proper time given for measured and rational responses. In addition, I'm thoroughly impressed with your ability to "dare" a guest to prove their own points. You did a wonderful job of refraining from going to the extremes of deriding or pandering to Dr. Paul, something I have not yet seen. It seems that Paul supporters want to agree with him everywhere while detractors - Wolf Blitzer comes to mind - seem to have their mind made up already. Kudos for keeping an open mind and reflecting the thoughts and questions any well-informed voter should have in your interview.

You can count a new radio listener among your ranks and I fully plan to go out and pick up your book for a few relatives for Christmas. Thanks for plugging it so doggedly, I might have missed that you had a new book out otherwise!!! :)

On a side note, I want to say that 99.999% of Dr. Paul's many supporters are diametrically opposed to any threat of violence (or for that matter, any type of non-academic response) against those who disagree with the campaign's ideas. We would sooner have the "crazies" vote for someone else rather than taint the overwhelmingly positive message that we believe this campaign can bring to the whole of America, and I hope your belief and views of the campaign are not adversely affected by the fringe riffraff that have decided that ours is the campaign in which to spew their hatred.

Perhaps over the top nice, but I think Glenn likes having his ego stroked anyways :)

I think the word bad should just be removed. It's a little snotty at this point. We're turning the tide, but the attitude we show to the journalists isn't helping anymore.

Maybe the word bad could be changed to "inaccurate", and then have a section called "accurate"? I really think this is needed, a lot of silent people do watch these forums from time to time, and probably use it against us. If they link back to something here, people on the fence could see a positive message from his supporters, since that's what sells Paul so easily for me. I'm one of the silent ones, I've been a member here as soon as I saw his message, but don't write that often, I have been to a couple local meetup meetings, and what started out as 6 people, is now about 25!

The supporters need a positive image too at this point. I was even mulling the idea of suggesting a "moneybomb" that ISN'T directly in Paul's name, but for a good cause (eg: Katrina relief, or something else), so we can show how principled we are about all this. I see so much support on other places in the net, even the most insignificant or unrelated of websites have supporters voice their views.

My son even pointed me to people talking about Ron Paul in positive and negative ways (but positive usually wins out), on gaming site forums. He really is the obvious choice for much of the younger crowd, but the 40-50 year olds seem a bit cynical. We need to win hearts, minds, and souls. Remember to thank the ones that do write positive and/or truthful articles, even the ones that disagree with Paul. Thank you!
